UFC 63 : Hughes VS. Penn

I'm not really a fan of Penn, but i hope he wins this Saturday cause Hughes needs to get his mouth off of Dana's dick and win fights on his own. Do you remember the fight Hughes vs. St-Pierre ?? George so won that fight, but the ref and of cours Dana gave it to Hughes. The guy was out cold for over a minute ! I mean come on !!!

Sorry if there are fans of Hughes out there, this is just my thoughts.

Can't wait to see someone kick his cock suckin ass !!! Maybe i'll get my wish this Saturday.

LET'S GET IT ON!!!!!!:)

I agree; BJ Penn is one of my favorite fighers, just a natural.

However, I'm not sure what you mean about the refs giving the Hughes/St. Pierre fight to Hughes; Hughes beat St. Pierre with an armbar.

I think you meant the BJ Penn - St. Pierre decision was given to St. Pierre even though BJ Penn bloodied him up, in which I believe BJ Penn did win that fight.

No... i mean during the Hughes/ St-Pierre fight, St-Pierre knocked Hughes out, but the ref didin't stop the fight and Hughes got up and they kept going, then Hughes got St-Pierre with an armbar.
Anyways, Penn is a great fighter and he's the only one who ever won against Hughes.

I just think Dana White MAKES Hughes win sometimes, you know ...

THANK YOU ! I'm with you 100 % on that.

Hughes will win... Penn hasn't had the best of run of as late... Plus there were reports he wasn't motivated in his training...

What? Do you know what you are even talking about?

GSP had Hughes on the ground in his guard attempting a Kimura. Hughes passed his guard, did a stepover armbar and George "RUSH" St. Pierre TAPPED OUT to Hughe's submission.

He was out for a bit...i wish i could find the clip to show you...
And yes i know Hughes won the fight...
All i'm saying is when he was out cold for a while and the ref should have stoped the fight then.

I will concede that Hughes was losing the fight on standup, but he wasn't knocked out. The whole 1st round was GSP, until he got hit with the armbar at the end of the round.

It's what makes MMA exciting, if you can't win standing up, you can take the it to the ground.

You're right ! I have to agree with you.
My fav fighter will be in UFC 64 : Rich "the ace" Franklin ! Now thats a fighter:thumbsup

jerseygto 09-19-2006 07:13 AM

i cant fuckin wait!!! but hughes haas been favored a lil but also in any kind of fighting sport or any other sport things can happen thus a punch or a kick just thrown outhere resulting in a ko....or that basketball thrown from the other side of the court resulting in a winning basket in the final seconds so all we gotta do is tune in a wait

Hey Anthony, who's your money on; Hughes or Baby Jay

I would love to see BJ do it, but I think Hughes is just the dominant fighter.

I don't think BJ has the same drive he did way back when.

Hughes and MFS itself, is a behemoth.

Crasy Bitch 09-19-2006 08:06 AM

You're right again ...

UniversalPass Pete 09-19-2006 08:14 AM

BJ of course beat him a couple years back! Not sure if he can pull it off again, Matt has improved quite a bit in that time, I also think that Matt may have taken BJ lightly the first time. I doubt he will make that mistake again.

If BJ comes with 100% of his game, I think he will beat Hughes again, but it's not going to be as easy as the first time.:pimp

Looking forward to it!:thumbsup

Matt is one of the top fighters right now. But its MMA, it could go ether way.

SxDx 09-19-2006 09:25 AM

Hughes will win. Penn's been on the shelf for too long.

RealityWife 09-19-2006 09:46 AM

I like Hughes, but I want Penn to win for sure. I Like the fact that he comes from a wealthy background, yet he still fights. He just really loves to fight and thats what sets him apart from many of the fighters.

I would also like to see Evans get beat as well.

fallenmuffin 09-19-2006 09:48 AM

I saw a promo for this on PPV.. lol are there really people going to order this? ...

The reason why he got his BJJ Black was because he would do nothing, but train 3 times a day.

He fights, because there isn't much more he needs to do. Nice to have that silver spoon.

anybody wana bet??

Vitasoy 09-19-2006 11:37 AM

How was the fight setup, in your eyes?

Who used more Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in that fight, Royce or Hughes?

honestly ..reminded me of wrestling...bring in the old timer with a good name.. have him take a whoopin and stop the fight quick..new guy gets over with the crowd.. when hughes had gracies arm backwrds.. gracie was cool and calm..i have seen gracie fight many times..

squishypimp 09-19-2006 11:49 AM

Hughes has been champion for some time now. He's no new guy.

Hughes had Royce's arm in a straight armbar from mount. I've trained with 4 Gracies, they all have the ablity to hyperextend, I'm guessing it's from starting grappling before they can walk. Royce was cool and calm because he's been fighting all his life.

I have yet to see a fight where Royce isn't cool and calm.

Royce is 38, Hughes is 32. I've seen larger age differences in fighters. Randy Couture was UFC Light Heavyweight Champion at 41.

I disagree..the fighting is more brutal in ways..and I like some of the fighters but the annoncers are worse than 10th grade journalism students. Its unbearable listening the English speaking commentators. Get an octagon and Joe Rogan and they are much better off IMO.

Ya I do too, it's just that you hear so much about UFC because there's the UF show now and it seems to be getting a lot bigger in USA now. About 3 years ago Chuck Liddell went over to Pride FC and got his ass handed to him. Chuck is better now but I doubt he could beat Pride's top LHWs. It sure would be fun to watch though!

Oh and UFC's heavyweights are a joke compared to Pride's. Fedor, CroCop, Mark Hunt, and more of Pride's heavyweights would destroy UFC's Tim Sylvia or Andrei Arlovski.

Both can be really brutal/bloody just watch Yves Edwards last fight or even this UF season 4 show 2 (Gideon Ray vs Edwin Dewees). Or Prides last OWGP was fucking awesome and brutal!
