I've been saying it for ages. But firstly, I think most of you guys are lying. I think the number is more like 80%, and I think at least 25% of the people on this thread are STILL underage.

So the next question becomes, is it illegal?

If I were underage, I think it would still be okay for me to run an ISP, *EVEN IF* the marketing was targeted towards adult webmasters.

What about other segments of the industry? Well, I'm not sure I can think of a specific crime that anyone under the legal age of consent is committing by running a porn site.. so long as they do not appear in photographs. Their parents may be guilty of some serious offenses, however.

a person under the age of eighteen (in the US, i believe) cannot sign legally binding contracts. if this is so, then they are probably violating a great many contracts if they are an adult webmaster, such as those with affiliates, content providers and hosts.

as far as underage kids having access to porn, i think they should sneak their dad's playboys/nudie playing cards/dirty books like all previous generations before them. these fucking kids got it too damned easy :321GFY

This doesn't follow. Just because a contract doesn't legally bind a person, does not mean that they are violating those contracts.

At 16, I can sign a contract to pay money in exchange for a car. I can then pay the money and get the car. The contract isn't binding, but I can still execute it, and it's not illegal.

By your logic, any transaction of any kind would be illegal if it involved a person under 18 years of age.

Don't get me wrong.. I am not saying that it *IS* legal.. I am merely stating that I am unconvinced that it is illegal for someone under 18 to engage in business as a webmaster, even if it is in the adult industry.

Yes. That is true. You cannot enter a legally binding contract with a minor.. ie: Even if the minor breaks the contract, they are not breaking the law.

They're not legally binding unless it's a contract for a necessity or for the minor's best interests, ie. food, shelter, employment..
