I would love to know who else is a drummer here on GFY.

I know of 2 thats it. There always seems to be a lot of music based threads and I always wondered. WHo are the drummers here?

If you are a drummer what is your favorite style of music is your favorite to play?

I play a black Pearl 5 piece with a custom rack. Noting to fancy but I love it.

This isnt my set but was taken at the yp mexico when we had a littel jam session

What kind of drums do you play? How big etc?

Drumming and drums are my passion in life and its something I will look into making a full time job one day.

At some capcity drums will always be a part of my daily life.

So let's here it who are the drummers here?

<----- likes to bang things...

Designed a set or 2 in my day also, while I was working with musical products still.

CyberAgeGary 09-18-2006 10:50 AM

I play poker with the drummer of SOAD.... He knows how to play music, but his poker game is not all that... :winkwink:

StuartD 09-18-2006 10:51 AM

I used to in highschool... 4 full years including summers. I was really getting into it.. then... graduated.
Drums, being the price they are, were not so easy to come by, so I stopped playing.

I would love to play like this man:

I love his drumming but he shows no emotion at all. What's he like in person? How did you end up being card partners.

I will take lessons forsure!

Gillespie 09-18-2006 11:04 AM

o/

Ex drummer here, even though I don't know if there is such a thing as an ex-drummer. "I no longer have a kit" is the most accurate description.

I used to play Pearl Export Select drums (fusion) with Sabian cymbals (AA and AAX), a Tama Iron Cobra double bass pedal and a Pearl DR-500 rack.

I used to play all sorts of stuff and almost went to Berkley if I wouldn't have been so stupidly in love with a girl who wasn't worth it. =(

chaze 09-18-2006 11:04 AM

I play in band here in LA.

Kewl kit, I have a flat black 5 piece birch Pacific with floating toms and all Sabian cymbals except the 22" Zilgan China. I think my spelling is hacked, anyways.

Rock on :thumbsup Drummers rule all.

Gillespie 09-18-2006 11:05 AM

Oh, I also used Remo heads and had one Zildjian A Custom 16" crash hanging around somewhere in the rack.

Oh, yeah? Very cool :thumbsup!! I've started of sheer curiosity (thanks to a girlie friend's mom)... You should start as soon as possible, it will definetively improve your time keeping and dexterity.

I was 1st chair percussionist all through school and was in jazz band for a bit. I used to play on my brothers drum set (Ludwig) but, that was years ago. I actually would love to get a set of my own some day just to dink around on.

I had his 7" splash. Pretty good for the price.

I have an old set of Ludwigs (4 piece), no idea what model, but they're like what Ringo Starr played back in the day. An 8 piece Pearl Export kit and a 5 piece Tama Starclassic kit in Tequilla Sunrise finish. Here are a couple of pictures of Bailey on my Starclassics.

I always wanted to play the drums but picked up guitar about 8-9 years ago and never looked back. Someday I'll get a kit just to have and mess around with.
