Whats is up with the gfy search
 

Sometimes when i search i just get a white screen

it does not work.... that's what's up with it.

Hasn't worked for a year

It does work sometimes though and used to work all the time for me

search doesn`t as usually

Search is totaly screwed,once is working and after that you can use it anymore.

Ya i've noticed another longer then one word, just doesn't work.

You would think they could of fixed that by now :):)

Quite simple really. If the search doesn't work part of the time, it may force you to look through pages and pages for the information you are looking for. Those types of searches produce more pageviews than just using the search to find what you are looking for. Therefor, when it comes time for a sponsor to renew their advertising, they can show them the numbers and say, "Hey look, the board had XX posts last month, not to mention the board had XXXXXXXXX pageviews."

Or it could be that the software hangs up in certain situations due to the large volume of past posts on this board.

Pick whichever one makes the most sense.

Shit this may be strike one. :(

Either that or they need to hire a real programmer.

yeah it does happend from time to time

sometimes it doesnt work for me either...

i haven't tried lately but usually i get the white blank page only if the search query has more than one word,

one word searches work fine for me

Psst, it's timing out before arbitrating through all records. It's not broken, it's just returning too quickly.

its extremely annoying. Also surfing gfy overall is fucking annoying for about the last year or so - when everyone starts nagging about the delays when you click a thread, they fix it but i bet its just resetting some server or whatever. A couple of days later its the same shit, and this is going on for about a year now.
