Do You Get Weirded Out When Someone...

Stops you in public who you never have met before and asks you to take a picture of them infront of some landmark or building or whatever?

i find it alittle odd.

butterflybucks 09-16-2006 03:51 PM

Naw, doesn't bother me. But I have a love for photography

After Shock Media 09-16-2006 03:52 PM

Depends on what type of camera they hand me and how fast they look.

a love of photography is one thing, but taking a picture with someone elses shitty little throw away or shitty digital camera is another thing.

plus it weirds me out that people want strangers to take pics of them with their camera and the way people do it is alittle strange too.

i dunno, maybe i just have issues

Doesn't bother me much... well, maybe a little, but not much more than some homeless guy bugging me for change...

How fast are you?

This reminds me of an article I read a couple of weeks ago. It's not about running speed but about camera quality in general.

"Just about any camera, regardless of how good or bad it is, can be used to create outstanding photographs for magazine covers, winning photo contests and hanging in art galleries. The quality of a lens or camera has almost nothing do with the quality of images it can be used to produce."

Why your camera doesn't matter:

be nice and help them share a good memory dickhead

true but the homeless guy normally you just pass onward its "socially unacceptable" almost to refuse to take someones picture with their camera if they ask.

It doesn't bother me at all. I do it to perfect strangers as well. How else are you going to have photo memories of vacations, etc.? You can't very well set up a tripod and use the timer wherever you go.

true true, but something about the act of giving a complete stranger your camera and asking them to take the pic just makes me alittle uneasy....

i guess its just me then... :(

1200mics 09-16-2006 04:03 PM

i don't find it strange at all , they want a pic together and have no equipment like tripod to do that alone so why not help them a second ?

I love how people easily use the word give instead of lend. Makes my day job easier.:winkwink:

i dont think its the act of not wanting to help them. its just very odd to have that responsibility put into the hands of a complete stranger.

notabook 09-16-2006 04:21 PM

As long as they aren?t nig nogs, doesn?t bother me.

scottybuzz 09-16-2006 04:44 PM

wtf, its called a helping hand. fortunitley we still live in a world with many of them in.

IWantU_Jeff 09-16-2006 04:56 PM

dont bother me.. why does it weird you out?

BallerBucks_Brian 09-16-2006 04:59 PM

Doesn't bother me.

What DOES bother me is when strangers touch me. Like yesterday when a guy in the local liquor store was trying to get my attention to ask me a question when I was paying the cashier. He touched my arm when I didn't respond to him. THAT weirds me out. Don't fucking touch me.

Ok I feel better now. Would that weird you out?

Libertine 09-16-2006 05:22 PM

Doesn't bother me at all.

Beggars, on the other hand, do bother me. Not all of them - I don't mind the polite ones, but the ones who keep harassing you after you refuse to give them money annoy the fuck out of me.
The other day I had one who just wouldn't give up. I'm pretty sure that he would have tried to mug me, had I not been a foot taller and about 50 lbs heavier than him.

msan 09-17-2006 01:50 AM

Nah, they're probably tourists or something.

martinsc 09-17-2006 01:51 AM

Not really a big deal. I'm always ready to take pictures if they asked me to.

reynold 09-17-2006 08:18 PM

That doesn't really matter to me as well.

Vitasoy 09-18-2006 01:30 AM

Doesn't bother me either.
