I saw some kickass football defense today
Just got back from the munchkin's game, and it was a good one. Our QB threw an interception, and when the defense took the field, the other team was 2.5 yards from scoring.
They held them, and regained the ball to give the offense another try. We won 19-6. Peewee football at it's best. :winkwink: |
I remember those days.. loved Saturdays
|
Great game :) :) :)
|
And you made an easy $1500 betting with the other team's parents.
:D |

I tried to run an over/under before the start of the game, but they started shaking the rules book at me. :pimp |
Gotta love football season!
My eleven year old scored 2 TDs this afternoon, including one on a kickoff return, and scored one extra point. My other son is playing high school football, but for some reason it isn't as exciting as watching the little kids play. |
Sounds like it was a great game.

How old is peewee football out by you? Does it get really competative? I know our peewee league is starting to get pretty competative & Im sorta against it. I think the Atom/Mosquito levels are for "fun" to get the kids liking it etc.. PeeWee they should teach & go over the main basics for the next levels & then Bantam & Midget are the main competition etc.. |
I wish I could watch the game ... fellas

Even in the Peewee league, there is a former NFL player coaching, along with a bunch of ex-college ballplayers. I don't see why competition would be bad, if they are keeping score there will always be losers and winners. And what kid wouldn't work his butt off to win the championship trophy? It's never too young for a kid to start gaining character and confidence. :2 cents: |
i thought you were talking about the lsu/auburn game!

The *children* are really competitive, and I am fine with that. It's the dumbass adults that I have a problem with. I'm a firm believer that parents are what is wrong wth youth athletics. Edit: The munchkin is 10 and in 5th grade. |

7th & 8th is Jr. High, 9th and some 10th graders are JV, and the rest are Varsity. I'm a cheer coach/sponsor and I do pee-wee all the way through varsity, but I will take a pee-wee game over the older ones, any day. It's serious biz here, too. The coaches actually line up on the field with the C-Team, go into the huddle with them, and tell them which direction to run and what to do after the ball is snapped. It's so cute and everyone gets so excited. I love it. :) |
