all my pcs are busy encoding video so im sittin around bored.. decided to build some shadow box displays for my hibben knife collection.

some of them are definately "display" pieces. the highlander bowie for sure wouldnt break, its the only one i have ever put to actual use. not in a belly tho, took it with me camping one thanksgiving weekend. its sharp enough to shave with.

I collect alot of different United Cutlery Swords ( the guys who produce the Gil Hibben) and yes that pic is of part of my LOTR Collection.

if you want to get a production knife, not a show knife... id get a spyderco and/or baretta made with CPM-S30V, a lot harder steel than 440 stainless

I've liked most of the kershaws I've seen. I bought my girlfriend a black chive. I prefer the axis lock on the benchmade knives over a liner lock or frame lock. My EDC is a SOG mini x-ray that uses their version of the axis. It uses ATS-34 steel, which has held up to the cutting I do.
