### Subdomain SEO Question ###
Which of the following would a search engine prefer as a subdomain for Albany, NY or would it not matter?
albany.mydomain.com albany-ny.mydomain.com albany_ny.mydomian.com Thanks for your help! :thumbsup |
Choose #1 or #2, avoid _
Also, if you have them to spare, park that subdomain on it's own IP. :thumbsup |
try the third one
|
I'd go for the second choice.
|
Thanks....anyone else?
|
I would do #2 and like the sub domain on a different IP idea.
|
i'd go for albany-ny.mydomain.com :thumbsup

thanks for the help :)
|
yea #2 is your best bet
|
now lets say New York City, NY
new-york-city-ny.mydomain.com -or- newyorkcity-ny.mydomain.com |

Maybe a hyphen makes it easier for a SE to split the domain name into the keywords. So I would use #2.
Regarding #3: You can only use letters, numbers and hyphens in Domain Names, as long as you don't want to use IDN. |
domains cost like $3.00 now, just buy a full toplevel domain
