Does Google not care about domain name any more?

So, it seems like the current algo for Google pulls results for totally unrelated stuff every time I try to search. For my own searching, I've switched to Yahoo. But I'm worried about surfers looking on Google for my sites because it seems like a search for the site names is not pulling up the actual domains.

Anyone else notice this or have thoughts on it?

domain name is relevant as i know it earns some points but you must optimize the whole site

That is correct sire.

I've done searches on my own domains, just to see it not the top listing.
Truely priceless.

Funny how most people here don't have a fucking clue of what's this about.

they made a huge mistake this time. I think they will go back because no one is benifiting from the current results.

pussyluver 09-14-2006 03:56 PM

names matter to yahoo, but not as much to google.

That's what I'm hoping. I used to enjoy searching on Google the most, but this time around, I find mostly junk redirects and gibberish nonsense on most searches on there. If what I'm actually looking for is buried a couple hundred spots down in the results or not even there, that just isn't useful.

As a consumer, I don't care because Yahoo works okay. As a professional, I'm definitely concerned about it.

I wouldn't say that.. I have a keyword domain and a few links too it using the keyword and bam I'm #1. Then I have a domain that doesn't contain the keyword and link to it with the keyword and its on like page 16.

Actions speak louder then theories...
