Conservatives File "Shit" "Fuck" 9-11 Obscenity Complaints With The FCC

Quote:

A conservative advocacy group plans to file a complaint against the CBS television network for allowing the "f" and "s" words to air multiple times as part of a Sunday evening documentary on the 9/11 terror attacks.

"During the course of the program, CBS affiliates chose to broadcast multiple obscenities over the public airwaves at a time they knew children would be watching," the American Family Association said.
Why was there swearing? Who was doing the swearing? Here's your answer:

Quote:

Depending on what the FCC decides, each station that aired the documentary could be fined $325,000. The very threat of such a fine prompted some CBS affiliates to avoid airing the program on Sunday night.

Defenders of the documentary -- which follows actual firefighters called to Ground Zero on 9/11 -- say that the swearing was done by real people in the heat of the moment and is part of the historical record.
Apparently we're supposed to sugar coat the events of 9/11 now, and have documentaries with dumbed-down versions of the events? Or, maybe it's the firefighter's faults. They shouldn't be using naughty words when hundreds of their fellow firefighters are being killed along with thousands of civilians?

Or maybe such things shouldn't be on TV at all, and every channel should have "The Gospel Hour", every hour!

I'm really beyond the point of being sick of these conservative groups.......

Really.

Nah. When I start a new thread, if my post is long, I always leave out the yellow. It's rough on the eyes when used in large amounts.

A lil yellow goes a loooong way. :winkwink:

Why must they use the word conservative? Why not call it like it is. A bunch of fucking dipshit assholes filed a frivolous lawsuit. What earns this group the privilege of being called conservative?

Many that call themselvesconservative when they really aren't. Do you consider George W a Republican? Republican is suppose to = Conservative.

Republican is suppose to = Less taxes, less government, and more military.

pussyluver 09-14-2006 07:42 AM

While we're at it, the peice was a hack job in the end anyway. I think about an hour was cut out of the damn thing.

It's about time the orginal hit the net. There are suppose to be like 900 DVDs of the orginal floating around.

I agree.

I am a Republican for those above reasons, and I don't agree with all the religious bullshit of the far right wing of the party.

It's more like "preservative". Scarlett letter puritan days. Barefoot and pregnant women. Say a bad word and go to jail with a label. The whole nine yards.

Fucking shitheads, I can't stand reading shit like this.

pocketkangaroo 09-14-2006 09:18 AM

It's weird how all the conservatives on the board disappear during stories like this.

Donny 09-14-2006 09:20 AM

I don't think it would have been such a bad thing to have hit the bleep button for that, but I don't think fines should be handed out either.

cool1 09-14-2006 09:23 AM

thtas pretty lame of the FCC
can't they find something better to do than that crap
I mean I don't care if my kids hear swearing , its not like they aren't gonna learn it as soon as they start school, if they re not already in school,
And hell I fucking swear all the time, nothing wrong with it, its just words.

I can see your point of view, but should we really censor history like that? I mean if a guy who rushed into the WTC to save lives said shit as he was about to be crushed by millions of tons of steel, I think we owe it to him not to bleep it.

BoyAlley 09-14-2006 09:28 AM

Again, the government expects society to be dumbed-down for children. I really don't understand the mentality.

HELLO PARENTS! WHERE ARE YOU?

A documentary about 9/11, you just know it's going to be bad, and traumatic, and troubling. As a parent, you need to judge if your child is mature enough to watch such a thing or not, and be there to answer questions or concearns that your child may have, and be there to make them feel safe.

This is a recurring theme with the Republican Party now: Everything in the world should be child friendly. Television, music, video games, the internet, etc.

Scary.

Scary.

To be fair, the Dems are no saints on censorship when it comes to TV, video games, and music.

what a bunch of fucking shit heads. get it? eh? get it it? lol

kristin 09-14-2006 09:39 AM

I heard about this, the thing is it has aired twice before with no complaints.

As Bill Maher said the other night, this didn't become an issue until after Janet Jackson, now I'm sure of the validity of that, but at least it was funny. : )

Scootermuze 09-14-2006 09:55 AM

The one I saw had warnings before the show and right after the commercials stating verbally and on screen that there was very strong language involved.

"What was that bang Mommy?" "It was just someone that jumped out of a window hitting something."

"What happened to those big buildings Mommy?" "They just collapsed with a few thousand people inside."

"What was that word Mommy?" "Oh My!! Oh No!! How dare they put such on tv for my child to watch!!"

So what are you doing about it?

I'm not taking a poke at you. The reality is that these groups have an influence far beyond the numbers of people involved, solely because they fight for what they believe in and politicians do listen. Everyone else sits around complaining about them, but isn't willing to make the same effort on behalf of their own perspective.

How can someone be for LESS government and yet MORE military which is part of the government?

And actually they aren't for less government in people's lives. In fact they want MORE government in people's lives at least when it comes to sex.

Fact is if more Timothy McVeigh's come out and pulls a 9-11 of their own, you'll see ole Bushy use the Patriot Act to take guns away from people in the name of "saftey".

sixsax 09-14-2006 10:04 AM

How fucking lame. I don't get why some people are so damn uptight. Focus on the big picture for once in your mediocre but self-glorifying lives!
