What's a good mainstream checkout system?

Basically I have a website I am developing in all html but I would like the checkout system to be a bit more automated. Anyone know of a good third party checkout system (preferably not a merchant account) where I can redirect add to cart links to and allow the user to select several payment options including paypal, credit card, money order, etc.?

www.2checkout.com

2checkout is for credit cards only. I need something where users can select between payment options. Mainly PayPal, credit card, and money order. Either hosted on the providers server or hosted on my own.

OsCommerce, Agora

Anyone know how to pass variables to an oscommerce shopping cart through the url? Like instead of clicking add to cart on a full oscommerce site, sending the customer to a custom link which adds the product to the oscommerce cart based on the product id?

You can use paypal - easy to setup, but probably not something you'd want to use in the long-term as they do have their problems.

That elimates 25% + of customers who don't want to sign up or had their account closed with paypal. If there is a way to pass variables from html to oscommerce (just during the add to cart part) than that would work best

what type of product are you selling, if you don't mind saying?

can it be legally pushed through a US-based merchant acct?

if so, why don't you want a merchant acct? i am aware of solutions but they require you to have your own merchant account

edit: and you're right, only having paypal.com as an option, even though they take CCs, will slaughter cart-to-conversion ratios.

worldpay.com
paypal.com
linkpoint.com

I am going to probably setup a merchant account in the future but for now I think the best solution is to pass the variables to an oscommerce shopping cart through the url, kind of like how you can pass variables to PayPal's shopping cart through the url. I just need to figure out how to do this and what if any modifications I need to make to the cart to accept variables from a url. I want to offer my customers more options than just credit card so with oscommerce I can always implement my merchant account into it at a later time without changing the order product urls around.

It's a bit more complicated than simply passing the variable, you have to create a template with all of the right includes. You need this in place before you can format the links to reference the right functions.

I just finished a project very similar to the one that you're working on, hit me up on icq 17357two251 if you need help, I'm sure that we can work something out. :thumbsup
