Probably nothing at all. Essentially all retail laptops are nearly identical, they all use sub-par parts so they can make the most profit possible. Just get the one with the features that you need for whatever you plan to use it for. The only thing to really for is how good their customer service is, that is, if something breaks on the laptop how many years warranty does it come with? Most manufacturers give a one year limited warranty, but a few are starting to go with a three year limited warranty plan.
That said, screen quality is something that is often fairly different on laptops. I?ve found that the best screens are usually on the dell laptops and sony laptops, where-as the poorer screens are on NEC, lower-end Toshiba sat laptops, and some of the HP laptops.
