Namesscout.com what a rip off:
$25 renewals, $25 transfers, wow what a rip off.
i have to spend $475 on domain renewals today which is just an absolute joke. i cannot stand how after bidding on a name pool just dumps you to whatever available register. looks like that is the fee so i guess i will just have to bite it. |
i think namescout is owned by pool. i agree, its a rip off.

My experience with them was a nightmare.
I had a domain with them that I caught from a drop as well. I went ahead and renewed it for 2 years, but the expiration status never changed until the last day of expiration(3 months later) I mailed them and asked if there was a problem with getting the status updated. They replied with some garbage about how their service only updates the registry at expiration time. After the expiration date had updated, I transferred the name away to another registrar. As their service only updates the registry 1 year at a time at expiration, I lost the last year of the 2 years I payed for. When I talked to them again, they offered a refund, but never gave it to me, and never responded to any other mails. Yeah, they are overpriced and crooks to boot. I guess at least it was only 1 domain though. |

Well, I guess at least you can transfer the ones that have been there at least 60 days for between 5.99 and up each. I don't seem to recall too many problems with transferring them away.
Good luck! |
