Saw a show on Cable about labs trying to cure gayness...imo, there's nothing wrong with it, for each his own. But they feel it's a genetic mishap along the lines on pedophilia that can be cured...crazy bastards!

The real question is can they isolate and change a gene that controls homosexuality? This is real crazy shit their talking about. but it leads me to my question.

In the end, let's say its true. You have a baby, they tell you that he/she is gay...do you let them change the gene? Even if it is just to escape the social difficulties? or do you let nature take it's course?

No I would not change shit. Seems to be partially genetic, partially what happens in the womb, partially nurture, partially how many older brothers the kid has, partially if he is right or left handed. I think if it is this complicated, lets not fuck with it, mmmk.

I'm with you 100%. And I'm straight as an arrow...but there is a feeling in the scientific community that certain genes have been isolated to cause homosexual activity in rats. if they reverse engineer...you never know. but in our lifetime we may be faced with these questions. crazy as it is.

fact is also, that if it wasn't for the society barriers that are in place for men, that there would be a lot more man on man fucking going on. homosexuality in men is always such a taboo thing, yet two women is accepted most of the time

Straights need to be more accepting of gays. Why change something that isn't broken? It may be "natural" for 5-10% of men to be gay.

I suspect they'll find being gay is a genetic thing... IF you assume that the natural "perfect" man/woman is hetrosexual, and you consider the thousands of years of defects etc. that have been introduced, it just makes sense. Most people have something that's not "right" with them due to their genes.. I've got a couple that remind me daily.. And then if you consider what they call "birth" defects like hermaphrodites etc., it just seems obvious to me that it will end up being a genetic thing. It's not a disease etc., it's the way you are based on your genes.

Whatever reason is behind the gene, I would definitely let it be. I'm a big fan of diversity :) Plus there are enough people on the planet, and the more people aren't able to breed the better. And by no means am I saying that only homosexuals shouldn't be breeding, I just think there should be a licence for having kids no matter what your sexuality is...
