Jury Summons --- FUCK!
 

How do you make sure to not get picked for the jury without being too obvious? I had one of these back in Chicago and I was lucky I didn't get picked for jury duty.

You are so important to the operation of a business that your absence will cause that business to fail.

It's a legitamte reason that's granted all the time. Ask for this excuse in writing.

Tell them you have many goat you need produce sexy-time explosion from, or Uzbekistani giant will beat you.

My brother got jury duty friday and we haven't seen him at work since!

Well last one I was on I knew one of the attorneys, and the judge asked me if it would influence my descision, and I said.. "yes Im pretty sure it will" I was on my way then. :winkwink:

When you are interviewed and asked if you have anything against the defendant or defense, Say "no not really... but that guy (point at defense attorney) flipped me the bird this morning in traffic"

I just got one too. For the 4th of Oct... weird.

yeah i always say I need to run my business. I got out of it twice.. I'll never go.. Fuck justice.

I told them I hated the city so much for denying my damage claims on my car (long story there) that id vote opposite whichever way common sense pointed too just to spite them. They tongue lashed me, told me to go home and took me off the list forever.

So damn typical of people. What is the damn problem with serving for jury duty. None of that financial BS either. Most everyone can take the time needed to serve without it hurting their business at all in reality.

Scares the living fuck out of me actually. It is one of the things that really worry me about working in this industry. If I ever do need to go to court, I am going to end up with a pool of jurors that either are not smart enough to figure their own way out of jury duty since nobody wants to serve, or if I am real lucky at least one or two people who do not mind serving. Yet with my luck they will be nosey bodies that have a closed mind from the start.

Then people have the nerve to bitch and moan about legal cases on here all the time giving their opinions left and right. Or worse, feel safe that they can prevail in court if they need to someday specially on some obscenity charge.

Why don't you just head on down to the court and volunteer?
