Do you notice trends in sales over the year?

I am wondering if other webmasters see increases and decreases in sales during points of the year such as the fall, winter, summber, and spring. I have an idea that more surfers sit at home in the winter months and conversions take place at a higher rate. Is this true for anyone or am I wrong.

Thanks guys,

Porn appears to be a seasonal thing, like fruits and vegetables.

Bump for a business thread.

It is often said from many programs and affiliates that summer is their slowest time. Then a few programs will say "Things have never been better", which may or may not be true, especially on the boards. :winkwink:

It would make sense that summer is the slowest time, because kids are at home more, vacations are planned, and more time is spent outside and away from the computer. The primary purchasers of adult products have less free time to enjoy it. I would expect gay sites would not experience such a slowdown, but responses from gay webmasters would be insightful on this.

There are more qualifications that have to be added to the question and the responses might vary by:

site (mega, niche, solo, etc)
type (straight, gay, bdsm, etc)
age and concept of sites (old site with a fad concept)
program tools (up to date tools for affilaites to use)
affiliate traffic (is traffic and/or conversions actually decreasing)

I might go even as far to add status of sites (updated regularly or in rotation), which would only be affected by afilliates that have a loyal and recurring traffic base. Presenting their same surfers with non changing content wouldn't be the best business decision.

So more information would be needed.
