Google changed results for 'domain.com'?
When you searched for 'domain.com' in google, only that site would show up and there would be links bellow to find more pages from that site, other sites that linked to it etc.
Now when you search for 'domain.com', google shows normal results with other competing sites mixed in and very rarely the site you're looking for is the top result! I'm even getting some sites not appearing on the 1st page wtf. |
that is fucked up!
|
Ahhh wtf... they must have changed it just a day ago?
|
I noticed this a couple days ago.
Isn't it obvious a person is searching for that exact site? Why show a bunch of irrelevant results? So now I guess competitor sites just need to add 'youdomain.com' to their pages and will probably show up on the top spots. :disgust |

thats pretty low .. damn google

it used to be the method to see if you had a hardban from google. if you search for http://yourdomain.com it would say no results , but if it WASN'T hardbanned it would say " if you think the site is valid click here to go to the site " or something to that effect if it was hardbanned it would give that option

Yeah, I hate the change. I've developed this strange habit of using my address bar as my bookmark list. All the URLs in the drop down are sites I visit on a regular basis. If I come across a URL I know I'll only check once, I'll just drop it into Google and click the link that comes up. Doesn't work anymore.
Luckily, dropping a URL into the Google toolbar and hitting enter still brings you to the site. |
To get only pages from that domain, just type site:domain.com ... :2 cents:
|
It seems like what Google counts the domain name for in search results has been much reduced and so the results are a lot less useful.
