Exactly. Verotel accepts payments for a lot of fringe/celeb type sites I wonder if they'll discontinue the practice if they lose the suit.

RRRED 09-11-2006 05:14 PM

Woohoo drinks are on Evan! :thumbsup

SiMpLe 09-11-2006 05:16 PM

Defendants named in the suit include CelebrityCash parent company ICG Entertainment, CelebsUnzipped parent Tarasant, FreeCelebrityMovieArchive parent Adult Profit, MrSkin parent company SK Intertainment, PaparazziFilth.com parent Web Traffic Inc., and Verotel Merchant Services, the billing company for CelebsUnzipped.

There it is...

brand0n 09-11-2006 05:16 PM

Stephen, it was a pleasure seein you + your lovely wife in fl.

Scootermuze 09-11-2006 05:22 PM

.... took images and derivative works from the Hilton video and used them in tours and on their sites, resulting in the dilution of exclusive content.....

Seems to me that the content was diluted long ago when it could be found anywhere and everywhere...

WiredGuy 09-11-2006 05:25 PM

EDIT: Nevermind, misread the last line in the article...

Barefootsies 09-11-2006 07:57 PM

It's always some greedy fucking shithead who ruins things for the rest of us in the celebrity niche.

Fucking A... :321GFY

No one can say they weren't warned :)
and although i am no fan of lawsuits.. i am also not a fan of the lawless attitude of people on the web.

xNetworx 09-11-2006 08:09 PM

I recognize a few of them. But with these celeb sex tapes almost anyone who's been in this business long enough knows not to fuck around with that shit unless you have the rights.

But still, every time, there is some lawsuit because people are mass marketing it, or whatever the case is. Then it sours the billing company, and next thing you know anyone in that niche market has to change again.

The greed of this business (while in any) is appauling at times. It's a lot like the scorpion and toad cliche.

:2 cents:

the funny thing about fucking around with this video is that EVERYONE KNEW who had full rights to that video. Everyone.

Exactly.

I mean if you have been in that niche for any amount of time, you know to stay away from it, or pretty much ANY celebrity sex tape. If you do not get the lawsuit from the company who owns the rights, you are going to get it from the celebrity, or one of her reps.

Sex tapes will bring you more grief than just about anything.

I would say it ranks higher than Perfect 10, Playboy, and Suze Randall. Most people know this shit is something to stay away from. But with each new celebrity sex tape, you always hear of some fucking greedy dickhead mass producing, reselling, or cutting into the profits of the company who has the rights.

She gave an interview in some UK paper saying she makes nothing off it.
But she must have signed the forms, yep?

Brujah 09-12-2006 09:13 AM

So where's a copy of the filing?

Roald 09-12-2006 09:24 AM

"Over the last couple of years, Salomon has sued Traffic Cash Gold and Consumption Junction for copyright and trademark infringement."

Never knew that

E$_manager 09-12-2006 09:44 AM

That would be interesting to know what will happen.

Why is Verotel the only processor being targeted? Don't some of the others use paycom or ccbill, etc?

short answer: please read the complaint as it is detailed.

longer answer: Verotel has continually ignored DMCA's and their prior settlement agreement from Rick's case previously and continued to support infringing site owners' abilities to process.

Rhino22 09-12-2006 01:20 PM

MrSkin.com (and its parent company SK Intertainment, Inc.) response to XPays Complaint

CHICAGO, IL -- 09/15/2006 -- MrSkin.com, and its parent company SK Intertainment, Inc., have been in business since 1999. The face of the website, Mr. Skin, has reviewed movies for nudity since 1996 on radio stations across America as well as VH1, E!, the BBC, magazines and more. The website has promoted, through reviews, the sales of millions of dollars of movies per year and continues to do so. The website gets 5-6 Million Unique visitors per month. A vast number of movie studios and distributors submit their films to the site for review and promotion.
SK intertainment, Inc. has developed an uncompromised reputation for adhering to the strictest ethical standards and business practices. We have reviewed the complaint and find it to be without merit. We intend to defend our position vigorously and are confident that we will prevail.
