KMR Stitch 09-10-2006 09:54 PM

Overall, her chances of winning both games were a slim 1 in 3,669,120,000,000.

lol smartass response ;-)

UniversalPassLorence 09-10-2006 10:48 PM

That's crazy :)

elijahfade 09-10-2006 10:51 PM

I probably spend 1000 bucks a year, buying lottery tickets and maybe... maybe win $20.

Vitasoy 09-10-2006 11:30 PM

no actually thats pretty stupid because thats using the assumption she bough one ticket each time.... and we know that did not happen

MrMaxwell 09-10-2006 11:43 PM

To know her true odds you would need to know how many tickets were sold, how many she actually bought and the overal odds of her tickets or anyones ticket hitting the actual number drawn.

I suck at math all I care about when I read about this is what is that ladies telephone number and would she like some FRED ;)

Not so stupid..
She could have bought 10 tickets and the odds of any of them winning remain the same.. regardless of the overall odds..

madawgz 09-10-2006 11:53 PM

want to see someone really fucking lucky?

"The prize will be paid out in $50,000 installments over 20 years"
everybody who knows a bit about the present / future value of money knows she is being ripped off heavily
she should sue the state unless those terms where stated on the ticket she bought

What in all hell does that have to do with anything?

Consider the tax hit on a $1M lump sum pmt,
She pays 25% on $50,000 / yr or 35% on $1M (Federal only.. plus state)

Inflatation is what 10% per year everything doubles in a decade
So you're still right, it is a fuckover
I don't know if you can sell a lottery "annuity"

Actually she probably chose to be paid over the 20 years. The way most lotteries work if you take the cash upfront the prize is significantly smaller, and that's before taxes. To get the full prize value you have to choose the annual payout, then pay the tax assessed on those annual payouts.

scottybuzz 09-11-2006 09:37 AM

lucky plucky

Ace_luffy 09-11-2006 10:25 AM

she's so lucky

Gnat69 09-11-2006 10:35 AM

LiveDose 09-11-2006 11:00 AM

I'd be happy with half her luck.

tranza 09-11-2006 11:13 AM

That's insane....

Kiwigirl 09-11-2006 11:28 AM

Good for her! Now if only I could get a little of that luck. LOL

Nismo 09-11-2006 11:54 AM

That's karma. Look what she did with her first $1mil winnings; she bought a house for each of her 3 kids AND kept her job. Now, she can retire early with plenrty of cash.

LittleSassy 09-11-2006 02:08 PM

she's really lucky...wish i could have even just a little share of her luck

reynold 09-11-2006 07:33 PM
