Ready for Moore...... Michael Moore

Moore Slices Up Health Care in New Film
Sunday September 10 2:13 PM ET

First, General Motors. Then gun control, followed by George W. Bush. Now rabble-rousing filmmaker Michael Moore has turned his irreverent camera on health care in America.

"Sicko," Moore's dissection of the health care system, promises to be another hilarious documentary romp, based on excerpts he showed Friday night at the Toronto International Film Festival.

During a two-hour appearance, Moore discussed his career as a counterculture journalist, provocative filmmaker and liberal standard-bearer, and he played three clips from "Sicko," which he said would be in theaters next June.

Well this going to be hard for anyone to run to the HMO's defense on this one. This is a very bipartisan topic lol

"Michael Moore is a political activist with a track record for sensationalism. He has no intention of being fair and balanced," Johnson said.
Well... since Ken Johnson is senior vice president of the trade group Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America - he would say that :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I read a book on making documentaries, this is a myth that they have to be fair and balanced. In the book it said it doesnt and this book was written in the early 80's

I’m no fan of the fat fuck Moore, but even I have to applaud him on this one. I couldn’t really imagine someone showing me something that would shock me when it comes to the American health care system so it’ll be pretty interesting seeing what kind of dirt he pulls up on them.

Interesting. I'll wait for that documentary..

Very true - OK sometimes you need to be fair and balanced, but there comes a time to take the gloves off and quit the hypocracy and go to war. Roll on Fat Mike - spew your views :winkwink:

This should be interesting - especially for us Brits. I was always led to believe that your healthcare system could beat the living crap out of our NHS... otherwise i'll have to pull out the old "my healthcare system's dad could have yours" line.

Quagmire 09-11-2006 06:31 AM

Keep in mind that Moore makes docu-tainment films, not documentary films. His films are biased based on his beliefs well beyond what a standard documentary would be.

A documentary is meant to educate and inform people, not sway them.
