Making a network of sites

i got a bit too much spare time these days
Also i got a server idling, so now i want to make a network of sites, all my own. I can add up to 255 domains on that idle server, all on their own ip.
Setting up the network wont be a problem.

Why do this? To get a high listing in the SE. Google ranks sites based on the number of other sites that link to the site. So if i would make a network of 100 sites, link them all together, i would get some nice search engine traffic. Ofcourse it wil ltake a shitload of work, bu ti have time.

My main issue is that i dont know what kind of sites i should make.
I could either make free sites, with 2-3 galleries each. These galleries i could also rotate on my own tgp. This way i will have big bandwidth bills though. However my tgp will be more efficient.. i think.

An other option is to make a network of avs sites. This is a problem too, because most avs-systems dont allow external links to sites that use an other avs-sytem, or they dont even allow external links at all. I know i could put up something like enter.html with the links, but im not sure if that will much sense since the SE's start to spider on index.html, and ofcourse index.html wont link to enter.html.

Any idea's on what to do? I cant really choose...

-sorry meant to post it in Q&A..plz move it there tnx

The last I checked we were #1 listed at google. Join are avs and link up with us, we are pretty liberal.
Have a great day!

250 different ips on the same block isn't gonna help you too much,,, SE's are alot smart than that,,,

i have done you plan for over 3 years,, but i am scanned across 3 different hosts and servers,,

http://www.avsalert.com/Articles/mil...llarplan.shtml

thats what i do almost everyday

sorry to shit on your parade, but from what i understand, you dont get high link popularity if you have 5000 domains on the same server, its gotta be different etc

FireFoz 06-23-2002 12:38 PM

I know SE dont list a bunch of domains that are all on the same ip address. Thats why i got an unique ip for each domain. However playa could be right about the block...but hey i can also spread out, so far i only registered 30 ips to start with so i can register the other 30 ips in an next block.

The main issue still is how to link em :)

Having links pointing to you is only the beginning, but they do have to becoming from elsewhere and it is alot of work. What one search engine wants is not the same for the next, so learn what seach engine you want to be listed on for an excellent listing and learn all you need to know before you do it.:2 cents:

most hosts are allocated IP's on the same Class C block,,,

but word of advice,, this a very long process
i am talking like at least 6 months to a year before you start seeing any significant traffic from Search Engines,,,,

its just best to use your 30 sites,,, and
1. make tgp Galleries with recips and start submitting
2. Grab 3 clean or recip galleries and make a free site with recips
3. Use the same above and make an AVS site and make recips to submit to link sites.
4. Make hub pages with all your links to AVS and Free Sites and Galleries

do this everyday and in bout 6 months to a year you'll start seeing some good traffic,,,

but make sure you have good sponsers,,, it really sucks when a sponser is bad and trying to update the pages

That sounds good playa.. i hear ya on the last line... i'll use includes to include banners (categorized) so i can switch sponsor on all my sites at once, that would be cool.

But if my avs-root is at domain.com/index.html for example... and i will have links at enter.html (thats where i link to from my other sites), will SE list notice those links? I mean, shouldnt they be in index.html OR AT LEAST get linked from index.html?

The fact that there are so much avs-systems out there that dont allow links bothers me...

I dont think they would allow me to make index2.html as start of the avs site either :P

If you have thousands of pages out there you should REALLY use SSI to update all your pages.... That way you can update one ad
on thousands of pages by just updating ONE file, and it only takes a few minutes :Graucho

Okay, thats 1, but im not gonna stick with 1 avs sponsor since those cant be updated by 1 single SSI :winkwink:

It would be bad for sign up ratios too, to have just 1 avs-system.. i want multiple :)
