T-Shirt Hell is using the same shopping cart as ThinkGeek.com I believe. I forget the name now but it cost a shit load.

both are based on http://oscommerce.org If you can hack up oscommerce it's a REALLY good open source solution and there's tons of skins you can buy for a couple hundred bucks

what about micro payments? is there a good solution? stuff at around 1$-5$ and direct credit card billing?

Not really, Everytime a micro processor launched they closed shortly after. But that's third party.

I know of plenty of good shopping cart solutions. :)

The trick would be in changing them for you to set up the hourly charges for your "gay services" site. :winkwink:

i've been thinking about investing in developing a really good shopping cart solution for sale.

i've custom written one that we use on all our ecommerce sites, its ajax based but not too flashy..
