great guitars! good luck with the fix. a good luthier should make her sing again no problem.
|
Damn dude, sorry to hear that. I know I would be totally bummed if that happened to my LP Standard, but it does look like it was a clean break which should make for a solid fix.

If so... how much did you pay ... ? |
Also, check out the Gibson Forums at http://www.gibson.com/relations/foru...n=topics&fid=3 because I know there are some UK guys on there and they may be able to point you to a good place to get it fixed...

No, I'm in LA ....but I used to have a Epiphone endorsment. I would argue that it's a design flaw, or bad neck from the factory and tell them in fell softly on a carpeted floor. You might get a whole new neck for free:pimp |
oh man... that's pretty hurting! That's a nice guitar :(
|
Damn that sucks when that happens. It's actually a common problem with LP necks. Should be able to get it fixed though :) Good luck!
|
I had the same thing happen to mine, it's fixable.
|
she's hurting ;(
|
Bummer. And I thought it was bad when I put a chip in my bass drum.
|
totally sucks.........

Had a beloved Alvarez acoustic given to me by my Father when I was 16yo. Played it almost daily for 10+ years and grew rather attached to the thing. One day I sat it aginst the wall began to wall away then heard all hell break loose. Suffered the same fate as yours by falling on it's face except the neck broke completely off. Almost the same exact break as yours. I feel ya man, it sucks. I remember standing in one spot staring at it not wanting to believe what I was looking at. Good luck getting it fixed up |
my friend says:
[21:14] : oops [21:14] : looks bad but headstock breaks are easy to fix [21:15] : tell him to take it to his local guitar shop, they can glue it and clamp it and it will be good as new for about £75 [21:16] : when it's fixed the glue sets harder than the wood it's fixed to, guitar techs fix crap like that all the time doesnt sound so bad, i hope it plays the same!! |
dont beat ppl with guitar, use basseball bat:)

i have abused alot of guitars over the years, thankfully i haven't had anything that bad happen yet. hope you get it fixed man, a les paul is a terrible thing to waste. |
It is ... and I wont waste it ... just gotta get it to the shop soon!
It's a 1989 model and it's simply beautiful!!! :( |
Well that certainly sucks :(
|
I'm so sorry. It looked like a nice guitar too
|
I can get it fixed :) Just gonna cost me :(
|
Well worth the investment to get it fixed
|
you figure its so common of a break on les pauls, gibson would of addressed the weakness.
|
It's probably a playing thing ... it's not just Gibson's that have this issue ... many other manufacturers have the same problem.
I just can't wait to get it fixed! People ... come and order some toons so I can get my guitar fixed!!! |
Feel bad for ya. Hope it gets fixed.
