ZONEALARM...Anybody here use it?
I downloaded the free trial of the zonealarm suite and it seems to do very well. I might buy it after my trial ends...Anybody else here using it?
|
yeah its a good program kasperskys good also
|
I found it not as effective as Kaspersky
|
Not since I learned that it was about as useful as Norton AntiVirus, and only half as debilitating. Software firewalls will always be shit. If you need protection, get a NAT box. You're probably running one, already. Got a popup problem? Stop clicking random EXEs and using Internet Explorer.
Those simple rules lost me thousands of rebills for (re)-fixing shit. :( |
People still use that? I hadn't touched it since Win98.
|
forget about zonealarm... use outpost instead.

I use Zonealarm, never had a problem.
you have to take the time to set it up and set permissions, that is what people don't like, that and the pop ups when it asks permission for a program to access the net when maybe it shouldn't. |
use EZ firewall, it looks exactly like zonealarm without some useless shit i cant remember
|
Zonealarm caused a myriad of problems...more than it solved, everytime I installed it (even the paid-for version I splashed out for awhile ago).
It may be fine for noobs and those who don't know any better, but for me I wasn't overly thrilled with various aspects. |
it's a pain in the ass, my wife still uses it asn it blocks to many things.
i just use the firewall in the router. |
My ping on counterstrike went from 70ms to 250ms with that POS.
|
works good for me
