thats fucked up, theres a lot of clubs here that have a "no black people" dress code. but its enforced to anyone. ive gotten turned away from a club because i had en ecko shirt on. also another one wouldnt let me wear my hat backwards. i'm pretty sure they make those dress codes to keep black people out.

That, or backwards hats bring the dress of a club down.

WOW. That was a horrible thing to watch. Canada of all places... sure a country of acceptance. My ass. There is racism everywhere.

I think I'll show that video to all my Canadian friends who harrass me for living in the US where there is so much hatred and racism.

Which of you believed that in this century this could be possible? I think that we all are the same doesn't matter if you are white or black. The people are different because of there character,the color of the skin doesn't make a person better.

Honestly, the club owners should be able to have whatever policies they want. It's their property, and thus their rules should apply.

Ask any club owner who isn't afraid of speaking up, overall blacks spend less and cause more troubles. The same goes for young guys. Just as people who block third world traffic on their sites the club owners just want to get rid of the clients that are overall costing them. It's the same logic and I don't see people complaining that blocking indonesian traffic is racist.

They tried to get in with no ladies. Bouncers don't like cock fests.

Meanwhile everybody is avoiding the elephant in the corner. Just like everyone does about Vancouver. The fact is, it's minorities that are starting most of the trouble. Acting inappropriate to women and being violent to everyone else. Women are a night club's most valuable commodity, and it's the women that dont want big groups of brown/lebanese/black guys there.

To some degree you've got a point about the first part.......but you can't blame every black guy for causing trouble.

They did a good job in Amsterdam: a couple of clubs introduced a member card. And if you fuck up at one club then you are banned at all the clubs. This way they aren't judging anyone on colour/gender etc......but only on how their behaviour. :)

They didn't look threatening at all...However, they can just as easily go to a bar that isn't full of white people....Problem solved.

Uhh, not so much in Calgary. Calgary _IS_ full of white people.

I was just impressed they have nightclubs in calgary.

When I was younger I would get turned down at clubs all the time. Even if those black dudes were with some homie looking white guys they would get turned back. That story is such bs.

Racism is gonna exist, people should just deal with it. If someone doesn't want me at their club I'm not gonna bitch and whine about it.

thats the unspoken rule of the club world.

if u have any experience if the club industry u know that all clubs have a % black rule.

u can only have a small % of blacks in a club at all times, otherwise the club will eventually turn black because they feel its a place that they can get in and are welcome.

and when the club turns black white people stop coming, there eventually will be a shooting and the club gets shut down.

this is statistically proven and hapens EVERY time and is an unspoken rule in the nightclub industry.

blacks in clubs cause trouble. if you are in the club business to make money, you dont want blacks in your club, they dont spend money and they intimidate other paying patrons.

unexperienced club owners are the ones who usually allow blacks because its easy quick money.. you can charge up to $50 at the door and blacks will pay, but they loose there asses when there is a shooting and the club is shut down.

its not a racist thing, its a business decision. a club is there to make money. black people in a club is a liability.

I just re-watched the clip and the first guy is trying to get into the club with a turban and possibly a full beard... Come on. Also alone with no girl.

The 2 other guys are with no girl and wearing sneakers and one is baggy'ed out...

Also one of the guys is trying to out-smartass the bouncers with is a no-no.

I'm sure that if they put the black dude with glasses and 1 or 2 hotties he would have gotten in without a problem.


The other thing is that I've heard many times that black clients in bars don't buy a lot and don't tip well. Also often dance-rape girls monkey-style by behind. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I've heard it many times by club people... that might be why they were not down with them.

As soon as I stepped in Canada from the USA I looked at the blacks here and I went "wow! what a difference!" That was 7 years ago and til today after running accross countless black men and women, making number of black friends I still have the same feeling "huge difference!" :winkwink: Ofcourse not all black people are the same.. am simply saying what i feel about the majority of them.

when i was in my early 20's and lived in Anchorage Alaska... that was exactly what happened, every single time without fail. Everytime a normal dance club opened, it was really popular for about 2 months, then it was suddenly 90% blacks, then within weeks there was usually a shooting or some incident that ruined the business.... meanwhile other clubs/bars that were extremely popular that endured over time played Rock and had almost no blacks.

its not racist... its a simple fact of how things tend to play out.

This happens everywhere and not just ethnic people.
Try going to an upscale club, with only guys, not dressed well and not willing to drop a lot of money. Good luck getting in no matter what colour you are.
It just makes great tv cause they get to feature a "racism" story.

I've lived in Russia, Sweden, Australia. It's the same everywhere, you always have certain minorities that are not wanted at clubs.

I don't see what is so wrong about it, it's private property so they should be able to do what they want with their property. Then again we barely have property rights in Canada.

The only club owners who don't racially profile people are the idiots who don't mind losing money.

i've been to a handful of calgary clubs, but it's edmonton's scene i know better. i worked in the nightclub scene for a while fresh out of highschool, and the fact of the matter is, MOST of the high tension shit, violence, and drug dealing IS done by the asians. i don't have any personal problem with them racially, but i just don't like being in a club full of gangbangin asians...

then again i can't stand much of anyone in the club scene anymore, and refuse to go to any lame ass dance club in the first...

Sad but true. The most popular local bar around here now is a country bar. Most of the people don't even like country music, but the black folks and the Asian gangs hate it even more, so they stay away. :1orglaugh

Actually around here we seem to have the most trouble caused by Asian gangs. They like to attack you in groups then run away into the night. It's pretty crazy stuff when you are sitting back watching it happen to someone else. They swarm you like an army of fire ants then vanish a few minutes later after the damage is done.

We have over a million people, the highest wages in Canada, and pretty much no unemployment. Of course Calgary has nightclubs ;)

Nah, it's just like that at a couple of the clubs here. They are racist and are instructed not to let in people with turbins. I'm not sure if things have changed in the last couple years or not, but it was pretty bad. A buddy of mine who happens to wear a turbin was having the same problem. He dresses nice, and funny thing is he has more cash to blow than anyone else in the bar.

On the plus side, there are lots of better nightclubs that are happy to have the business.

Don't have many black people where I'm from. However, Arabs aren't allowed into clubs in great numbers here. Why? Because there's a hgher risk/chance they'll just bring trouble, and more serious trouble than your average non-Arab.

If a club/bar has a tendency to allow large groups of Arabs I will simply stay away, and so will 99% of the people I know.

And that's why Arabs can't get into clubs in my country.

Hmmmm crazy that's kind of a blast from the past. I remember in 89 on Electric Ave they clubs were demanding two pieces of ID to prevent underage gang members (who on have one piece of fake ID) from getting in and in a way I suppose they were targeting Vietnamese but I never noticed other races have a problem.

Last summer when I was in Houston I got a huge kick out of being told not to watch the hockey game at the Fox Sports grill in the Galleria because it was going to be too "Canadian" in there. I responded "kick ass that's what I want for a hockey game" but later found out that a bar being too Canadian is a slur referring to being too black.

Because of the oil convention there was a shit load of guys from northern Alberta in the bar for the Oilers game so it ended up really being too Canadian :)
