Medical Question....uti
Hey,
my friend thinks he hs a UTI....if so, he has it a few days now. He has not had sex so he knows its not an STD. It burns him sometimes lately when he pees. Knowing that i took some Bio classes in college, he asked me.... is it possible to cure a UTI with something over the counter or only through antibiotics??? Thanks for your help |
lots of fluids.

Cranberry juice - lots of it.

i was told cranberry only prevents, not cures...?
|
probably gonna need the antibiotics. if he lets it go it can turn into a kidney infection - which is WAY worse.:2 cents:
|
thnx pamiebdvd, i will let him know that info...

mine went to kidney infection, without even knowing i had the uti. That cipro stuff works, but it sucks being on it. I can't imagine being on it for a year!

I get them all the damn time.
Visit doctor or clinic if you can. Otherwise plenty of fluid, plus a great deal of cranberry juice and or cranberry juice extract pills. I also suggest high amounts of lemonade (real kind). By the way odds are cipro, amoxicillin, etc are overkill for a uti. If they suggest it, ask if macrobid will work. It is cheaper, less side effects, and of course is not a nukem pill like cipro. Save the heavy hitters for when you must use them as to not develop shit that is resistant to it. |
Let him have an appointment with his private doctor. Yes, fluids might also help.
