I understand it's an awesome program but is there anything else out there as good that doesn't come with a novel for a manual... I only need something with groups etc for rotating banners, fpa's, text ads etc for my own network

It's not as complex as you make it sound - the interface is pretty self-explaining IMHO.
You don't even need to take a look at it for those things you want to do.
