Would you promote a program that I owned?

There will be no poll in this thread because I want honest answers and thought out comments, not Hooligan voting "fuck no, jim is a dick" like 47 times under 47 fake nicks.

Let me just preface the tornado of insults that I'm sure are soon to come with a little info:

Affiliates are job #1. You simply can't do profitable business without them. Nats would be key since that seems to help you guys sleep better at night. Rewards are important and so is accessibility to the people running the program. I can deal with that.

Content is King. Regular and eye catching content updates are the backbone of any successful program imho. Count on that.

You can't build a house without the proper tools. I think that pretty much covers it.

Yeah I KNOW I'm a dick, but I'm an honest one who has a genuine love for this industry and if you can find ONE dude who ever messaged me on ICQ with business or tech issues who DID NOT walk away happy then I'll eat Boy Alleys speedo.

I am seriously interested in HONEST answers here and not trite one line sentences about how much I suck.

Honesty is GREAT, but remember, I'm not an idiot.

I promise I won't respond to criticisms with comments about your mother.

LAWDS MERCY CRIPE MIGHT! This thread made my elbow itch SOOO bad I've damn near scratched teh skin right off of it! :Oh crap

gangbangjoe 09-05-2006 12:56 PM

i don't give a horseshit about the owner of the program aslong i don't get the feeling i am being betrayed and i could use my money in a better way

pocketkangaroo 09-05-2006 12:57 PM

The one thing I'll disagree with is the statement on rewards. Personally, I think rewards programs are shit. I have never signed up for a program based on it and I've literally never even looked at the sponsors rewards programs. Just the other day I won $250 from AWE for some contest they had. I had no idea it was going on.

So maybe rewards programs bring in affiliates. But I think the serious affiliates don't give two shits about being able to have enough points to get a PSP someday. They want money and would rather you put your rewards into the payouts. I say fuck rewards, just give bigger payouts.

xanx 09-05-2006 12:57 PM

sure,

board personalities are just that, board personalties

Well Put! :thumbsup :2 cents: :pimp

Doctor Dre 09-05-2006 12:58 PM

I wouldn't mind you owning a program but I would not promote it because you are the owner either... you'd have to provide something cool and different that fits my needs as an affiliate ;)

cybermike 09-05-2006 12:58 PM

No I would not

FuqALot 09-05-2006 12:59 PM

u guys are thinking too much.

its very simple.

traffic -> program with best payout -> spending.

Juicy D. Links 09-05-2006 12:59 PM

Rewards help bring the "little guy" into the fold. Theres nothing wrong with that and imho theres no such thing as a "little guy" in this industry. I know thats a weird statement to grasp.

Each and every dude who sends so much as a single sign up should be respected and yeah, courted.

DarkJedi 09-05-2006 01:02 PM

Funny. You claim to be a businessman. You say that you don't care about board drama when there is business to be done.

Well aren't you a hypocrite? You banned me from Epic Cash a few days ago JUST because you don't like me.

My answer? FUCK YOU.

Machete_ 09-05-2006 01:09 PM

this is a fake serious business post.. i know it

Monstaman 09-05-2006 01:09 PM

If you have a tranny site I will push it for you ...

marketsmart 09-05-2006 01:09 PM

although i would not send traffic to epic. i would send traffic to your program.

Damian_Maxcash 09-05-2006 01:10 PM

Nope - I dont like the way you operate.

I can pick and choose the programs I work with based on if I like the personality behind them, simply because there are so many programs out there.

There is nothing you could do that a 100 more experianced programs arnt doing already.

Shit, I typed all that and just remembered you have me on ignore - oh well I will post it anyway.

I know what you're saying. I just think some companies go overboard with the rewards, promos, and bonuses. There is one very popular sponsor that constantly has some new gimmick going on. Fact is that their stuff converts for shit these days and it doesn't matter what I can win, if I don't make money with them, I stop promoting them. The same will happen to the little guy who signs up and ends up not making any money. This same company puts little to no money into their sites, content, or promotional materials.

So you are right as long as it doesn't effect the product. Nothing I hate more than a contest to win a rolex or something when the sponsor is still using banners from 1999.

Oh, and to answer the question on promoting your program. If it makes me more money than another program, I would promote it. I don't care about board personalities and so on. If a company makes me money, pays me on time, I'll push them my traffic. :2 cents:

DJ I banned you from EpicCash because you've insulted and threatened my 7 year old daughter. Don't bother denying it. I was proving a point that NOW has zero relevance.

However, since you've been back under this nick you actually seem to be more reasonable. So hit me up.

DJ I have always LIKED you man. You know I have. You just don't know how to see a line that shouldnt be crossed. Whatever.

You wanna do real business? Hit me up and I will PERSONALLY help you make some money. No hard feelings at ALL. Like I said dude, I was just making a point.

Hooligan 09-05-2006 01:15 PM

promote you program???

you got to be fucking kidding :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

L-Pink 09-05-2006 01:15 PM

Sure, most of the people I do business with are ass-holes ..... most of my friends are ass-holes ... what's up?

pornguy 09-05-2006 01:17 PM

I would much rather sell for a " DICK " I know, than one I dont.

Where do I sign up?

pocketkangaroo 09-05-2006 01:17 PM

I'm just curious how anyone can say they wouldn't promote a program because they don't like the owner's personality.

If you were in the business world and Microsoft offered you $80,000/year while Google offered you $65,000/year, would you honestly not take the Microsoft job because you thought Bill Gates was a cocksucker?

Send to the company that makes you the most money. Don't tell your kid someday he will have less money for college because some guy on a message board pissed you off.

BradM 09-05-2006 01:19 PM

Of course. Send me the signup url.

dakota1358 09-05-2006 01:24 PM

I don't see why I wouldn't.I'd promote it and like any other program if it didn't convert or I thought I was getting fucked I'd stop promoting.

Except that the choice isn't between someone who p*sses you off on a message board but makes you money and someone who doesn't do either. There are plenty of people around who don't p*ss me off AND with whom I can earn money.

This "board persona" crap is exactly that. To maintain a persona it must reflect something of yourself and it certainly reflects the audience to which you want to appeal. If someone wants to pull in newbie affiliates straight off the short bus, that is up to them. But to me that says a lot of negative things about them and their program.

But the fact is that I would take less money if that were the only way to work with people who handle themselves professionally. They are easier to work with and they are the ones who are going to be around for long-term.

Deej 09-05-2006 01:27 PM

As long as you convert and you kept your shit legit, unlike so many around here....I like to be paid AND sleep at night...

MikesTraffic 09-05-2006 01:30 PM

I would jump all over the program like white on rice

self respect

Damian_Maxcash 09-05-2006 01:35 PM

Double post

polle54 09-05-2006 01:41 PM

Hi Jim

As one of you haters, my answer will be worth your time

I would gladly promote your program if it had what I was looking fore. If it just offered what every other programs offer I would might chose another one over yours.

Just because I dislike the way you act doesn't mean I dislike money.

Just as if you would like to do biz with TrafficHolder I would be more than happy to help you.

pussyluver 09-05-2006 01:45 PM

Why the question? Run into a windfall and thinking of buying Epic? Partner with EpicJim. That would improve your chances of winning the game.

I'd take the Google job because Microsoft is the devil imho.

jimthefiend, I can't fucking stand you tbh, but if you had a program that had exclusive, HQ content, and gave me all the nessecary tools to promote it I'd probably promote your program.

Even though you're a smiling pile of rat turds, you're light years behind that cock smuggler p1mpdogg (epic will never see 1 hit from me)

Klen 09-05-2006 01:51 PM

That's relative,I pick sponsors who had good sponsors and good support

Loryn 09-05-2006 01:53 PM

Sure I would baby, and I would do it with love! :wetkiss

madawgz 09-05-2006 01:54 PM

just do it and see what happens :)

scottybuzz 09-05-2006 02:00 PM

aslong as u bring the money in the correct way - yes, i couldnt give a fuck about ur board attitude or real life attitude

Define easier to work with? I haven't heard anyone having problems with him as an affiliate. I haven't seen a thread where they needed something from Epic and Epic didn't listen or produce. I mean if I had a question about linking codes and they didn't respond or told me to fuck off, that's one thing. However, there are plenty of companies like Nasty Dollars, Click Cash that have little to no support yet make affiliates a lot of money.

I guess I'm just greedy. As long as a company pays me on time, they can market their company how they want. I just want them to convert and pay me.

You should see the shit Google is up to. All the data mining they are doing, employee stealing, and spyware installing. In a few years, we'll be talking about Google like we talked about Microsoft.

Kevsh 09-05-2006 02:06 PM

I don't care how smart or how good you are. I can tell you are a smart guy and you know your shit, but I wouldn't promote a program you own because of your attitude, period.

Honest and insult-free.

tical 09-05-2006 02:07 PM

Can we openly see our shaved percentage? if so, yes.

Ecchi22 09-05-2006 03:31 PM

Dude, I droped a tear while reading. Okay, answer is yes.
I never promoted Epic, maybe because I was allways reading bad things about it.

So, I'm signing up now.. I'm serious.

Ecchi22 09-05-2006 03:31 PM

Okay, I wasn't serious about the tear but still.. :1orglaugh
