Anyone have a tablet PC?

I have to buy another laptop today and since I'm currently using my laptop with a USB wacom tablet i thought "why not streamline and buy a tablet pc instead?"

Because I travel so much it seems liek a good option but I'm not sure how well these puppies actually perform.
Keep in mind I don't need to do anythnig majorly hardcore with it or overclock it LOL - just enough to send emails, instant message and of course post on GFY all whilst i'm poolside in some exotic location haha!

does anyone have a tablet PC and what are your experiences with it?

I'm looking at buying the fujistu stylistic 3500

sounds like a good idea if you use that format alot. i would go with centrino though. the 2mb level 2 cache is essential

tablet pc FTW. make sure u protect it tho, its quite sustainable to damage, not to mention its priced way above much higher specd laptops

Tablets are really cool, my parents of all people have one. For what you need it for it would probably be adequate. You do pay a premium for those things though.. a lot less machine for the money compared to a laptop.

I'm not sure what price range you're looking for but she is an art major and has had no problems at all and loves it. I did get the extended warranty for extra batteries and in case the swivel screen had any problems. Good thing I got the warranty because she set the computer in the front seat of her car and dropped a text book on top of it and the screen developed a crack and had to be replaced. About $500.

Other than that I just bought a new power adapter cord this past week and the original battery is doing fine.

Well i went out and bought one - and yes it is black - i got the tochiba and i think it's the best thing I could have bought.

My old laptop got fucked because I used it to work on the beach everyday.. after a while it got so clogged with sand I couldnt even type HELLO without it comign up on the screen like : "h3225" :1orglaugh

the beauty of this tablet pc is - NO KEYS hahahahaha so beach sand - go bite me !

not only is it extremely light and great to work with - its great for my 3 year old - she spent the drive home using PAINT to make some nice artwork - what a great way to keep kids occupied on ling drives. I also got a few additonal extras to go with it

since im so used to using my motorla PDA with touchscreen and stylud - this is like second nature to me
ahhhhhhhh i love it!!!

if you dont have one - you dont know what you are missing

Would love to have one. Too bad I'm too broke. It would be handy for drawing.
