In Romania there's an asset bubble right now... wait for next year's april-june and see real estate going down

PS: in bulgaria you should come only with your personal jet or yacht.
car hijacking is a national sport

It's Golden Sands. Very good place to live, but in the winter this place is dead.

actually I have

a friend of mine was in bulgaria this winter for skiing... he came back by train

it's a common practice for romanians when they get bored of their cars to go to bulgaria by car, drink a juice at the fast food , car gets stolen in 10 minutes, come home without the car and cash the insurance to buy another car.

sometimes you can get your car back, the thief calls the hotel reception and asks for $1000 . you pay the receptionist and get your money back, he will handle the payment details with his good friends.

I'm wrong no? check what other people say too:

as I said you have no idea what are you talking about, do you know what carjacking is?????

Carjacking is when somebody sticks a gun in your face while you stop at the traffic light and takes your car, or as it happens every day here in South Africa, they blow your brains out and take your car

lazycash 09-09-2006 02:54 AM

CHSHKT lives there, you can move next to him and join his nightly tinfoil hat conspiracy meetings.

I actually live between Romania and London.
I have properties in Romania and they have been a good investment.
Drawbacks are the lack of services in Romania, the mentality of the people can be hard work and there are no decent Chinese Restaurants in Bucharest or Ploiesti.
My wife is Romanian, she is also a dentist so if you need some excellent dental work, veneers, implants etc... at prices that will blow your fucking mind - so hit me up.

[email protected]
If you want more info on Romania feel free to hit me up on ICQ 141265876

my brother has a flat in Sofia, and a house about 30 kms from there, he bought the house like 2-3 months ago and paid 18 000 Euros for it, the house is in a small mountain village - fresh air, gorgeous winter etc, he said he'd have to spend another 2-3 thousands to fix up minor things, paint it, and so on

The same applies to Bulgaria too, if you live (Western) Europe and have to get some dental work done - bridge, implant etc which is not 100% covered by your medical insurance you're better off flying to Bulgaria, fix your teeth, have a nice holiday and go back - it'll save you a lot of money

For example an implant here in South Africa (which is still much cheaper than the US f.e.) will cost you around $1500, in Bulgaria - around $150 max

where did you go? I'm thinking of permanently moving back - or at leat staying there for a year or two, getting sick and tired of the crime here

Thinking of renting in either Bourgas or Varna, then I'll see if I want to buy or move somewhere else

We stayed in a hotel complex at Elenite, just south of Sunny Beach. It was nice but too far from Sunny Beach.

We are thinking of renting a villa there or maybe an apartment to see what it's like. Better to rent for a year and see if we like it first.

ffmihai 09-09-2006 12:09 PM

ive spent like one week in Varna this summer! to put in one word: AWSOME!
if you move in the touristic zone then its so fucking nice. you go to the restaurant 2 persons on the beach and spend 10 euros (including tip) on a dinner with wine and stuff. services are excelent food is great (huge portions)people are very nice! and prices are really low!

Romania tops property investment:

"House prices in Romania are expected to soar four-fold over the next 10 years as Romania's economy benefits from its entry into the European Union in 2007, according to Channel 4 programme A Place In The Sun.

It has put Romania at the top of its list of the 20 best places in Europe to make money on property in the coming decade."

Don't go to Varna. Burgas is better, if you want to be at sea. Else, try Ruse, Plovdiv, or the crazy capital Sofia.
