I need forum software (phpbb or yabb)

I need some free forum software for a adult site I'm doing, and just found out about yabb, I've used phpbb before, but its SUCH a pain in the ass to customize with links or ads or whatever, I'm wondering if its worth switching.
Anyone run yabb or know anything about it? |

yabb dies out with the dinosaurs - even in 2002 it was dead in the water - unless its had a new resurgance that i'm unaware of
as for PHPBB it is THE best and if you get PHPBBFM it kick ass over vbulletin - it has 490+ hacks already installed - you can do all the ad managemnet from the bank end and can have nice features such as inline ads anyhow you can ICQ me if you need a hand i have a lot of experience with the script - both installing. running, customizing and skinning also my icq is 380-366 |

Oh great, I liked phpbb I just heard of this yabb for the first time, thought maybe there was something to it, myself or Kelly will have to get in touch, one of my biggest complaints was inserting ads into the phpbb code

I was never happy with phpbb. If you're keeping it standard and simple, it's fine... once you get into customizing it, it's just a headache. vBulletin is well worth the $160 for any serious forum project.

But contrary from what you've said, I've found that phpBB is very easy for me to modify to what I need....including ad placement and such....you know PHP right? |

phpbb is good and easy to work with, you just gotta know some php :)

I would choose phpbb over vbulletin for very large forums anyway day. After testing both in a large forum environment I was more impressed with phpbb

Ever look at SMF ? Simple Machines Forum.
	Pretty good & free |

 phpBB
hit me on icq if you want to see a forum with a badass google friendly urls script installed |

 go for PHPBB ...
but it has too many security issue so be aware for being hack |

Give PunBB a whirl - i've been customising the template for a new project of mine, and it has me very impressed. It's a million times less bloated than PHPBB, outputs valid XHTML from the off and loads a crapload faster.
