Question about traffic warrant

I have a friend who's flying in from the states next week...who has a traffic warrant for his arrest in the state he used to live in...he was failure to appear to court for driving on a suspended license charge...he's flying in from miami which is about uhmm 1400 miles from his old place, when he goes back into miami would U.S. customs arrest him? thanks if anyone knows...

No. On traffic shit, they generally wait for you to get pulled over. Or get jammed up on some other foolishness where they run your I.D.. Customs is too busy to fuck around with that minor shit. Especially if you are an American.

If you were an illegal (alien), then it's a different ballgame. Old college roommate is Homeland Security over in Detroit.

:2 cents:

why didn't he appear..it's not like he was facing a bid...i highly doubt they put this in NCIC...haha...

Most likely not.

However, he should consider resolving the warrant issue, if possible, at some point...

Unless he has a long rap sheet and/or other outstanding warrants, the penalty for driving on a suspended license can be little to nothing ... most likely it's a big fine and maybe some probation; he may be able to get the penalty greatly reduced by explaining the reason for driving while suspended was for earning a living (ie. commuting to work) - DAs / judges often will take that into consideration in a favorable way.
