how bad was England?
 

A friend of mine came over to watch England VS Brazil game. He was telling me that last world cup when England lost it was scary as hell outside, and many people got hurt.

After England lost to Brazil he told me if he was still living in England he wouldn't have driven home cause the streets are crazy.

I've heard of the riots & such but is my friend bullshitting, being a pansy or would the streets in England be pretty rough right now?

I was working today, live in a fairly large town in the UK, quite a few people got beaten up (mainly german students) there were tonnes of police and paramedics around lunch time, 3 hours after the game finished. I went in to the main town earlier about 3pm and there were very few football fans around by then.
Just not looking forward to going out tonight :(

but second half bad like hell!

We must have been watching a different game, the one I saw we played well for the 15 minutes after Owen scored. Then the Brazilians picked it up again and we looked second best. Would have been more interesting if it had not been played in sauna conditions.

And why did they not take the gamble and bring on Joe Cole, he's the only one on the bench capable of doing something unexpected. It was time for a gamble, so they bring on Sheringham:(

And Seaman should not be too upset; he played better than most of the team and that cross/shot was perfect and wicked.

untrue. there was no trouble, and there certainly wasn't anyone hurt. and i'm talking about the whole country here. not this time, not last time, or the time before that, or the time before that, or before that.

i've been out all day. went out at 9am, came back in at 7pm. been for a college exam, to the bank, been shopping, to the library and the chip shop. no riots here. if there is... i think i'd have noticed something, just little signs... like bricks flying past my head. ;)

neither team played good. brazil didn't deserve to win. but then, neither did england. and england didn't produce the shots on goal. brazil didn't look oh-so in control, they didn't really dominate as predicted and played average, if that. england didn't play great either... because its a sad day for english football when they can't produce chances. all things considered... in the end, someone has to win. so congratulations to brazil.

there were some negative factors in the england side. there were injury worries, and the side are quite young.

seaman is a great goalkeeper... calm, focused, and keeps ahold of the ball. unlucky way to end his world cup career (on a 1 to 10 scale of fluke, that goal was a 15) ... but some people are quick to forget, the only reason england were in the quarter finals? well... a big factor in england's success leading up to today's game is the collection of EXCELLENT saves by seaman. but one small mistake and he is crucified... for what its worth, the critics can shut the fuck up.

i know that i'll cheer for seaman.

I thought Brazil deserved to win even though I wanted England to win.
Look at the goals.

Englands goal was a fluke, bad deflection off the Brazil defence & landed right infront of Owen.

The goal Brazil got was beautiful. No fluke or errors involved.

The second Goal Brazil got was sheer luck & Seaman fucked it up.

Even if you subtract the iffy goals you still have Brazil with 1 point ahead.
