Dedicated hosting

I know that there already a lot of topics about tis subject, but i also like to ask something.
I am looking for a dedicated server ,now I am thinking about Webair or Hosthead.
They both have great offers on their sites, start around $80 a month.
So I am looking for a dedicated between $80 - $100 a month.
Can you tell from from exerience how they really are, then i am talking about uptime, service, that kind of things.
I prefer to have a 24/7 support included my contract.
Or maybe you know another company is this price range.
I am looking forward to your comments

What is your requirements to a dedicated server? I mean bandwidth, space, RAM, and etc.

Spudstr 09-03-2006 07:10 AM

Some providers can offer servers at lower prices than others, they have turn over on hardware user A has a server for 5 months, server cost is now paid for, user A now cancels, user b needs server same specs user B might get a lower price now sice hardware is being wasted, they no longer aquire the cost of the machine so everything is pure profit, bandwidth is more than always oversubscribed on a network.

uptime and service will very from host to host. All hosts will have outages and bad support once in a while it happens.

Best idea just get opinions from people who have been on each host and get a feel for it.

$100 per month is not gonna buy you a very nice server. Hosting is the last place where you should go for the cheapest :2 cents:

Agreed! It is possible to pay even several hundred dollars for a dedicated server which performs more poorly than a $29.95 shared account.

The problem with comparing boxes is that it's like comparing apples to oranges.

Beyond RAM and HD space, how do you guys measure server performance/capability across the 'species'?

WebairGerard 09-05-2006 08:52 AM
