Safari Browser CSS Issues?

i've never really cared much about Mac compatibility issues with web designs but my partner is a Mac guy so it bugs me when he says something is out of whack in his browser. I found this great tool http://www.danvine.com/icapture/ it will take a screencap of how a webpage renders in Mac's Safari browser.

I fiddled around with the design and what i found was CSS padding i had in a table cell was throwing it out of kilter. The 2px padding I had so text wouldn't jam right up against a border added 4 pixels to the width of the cell - wtf? why? is this a well known issue with Safari and CSS?

Did you try to load in other browsers?

thats an occasional issue in firefox for me as well.

Add padding and you'll have to subtract the width.

This is, as mentioned, a known browser issue.

The easiest fix is to use fucking tables and pretend that the nerd world doesn't exist. :(
