Moscow City Day ( pics )

Moscow City Day.
Moscow, the capital of Russia, celebrated its 859th birthday on the traditional City Day, commonly marked in September with a lot of speeches, festivals and shows.
The centre of the city was closed for cars to allow thousands of people watch the concerts, fireworks and shows all over the downtown.

I've been to Russia twice (never been to Moscow though), and I strongly advise you against going there, there're so many hot girls you have to walk around with permanent woody - very embarrasing to say the least

time I went across the border though :)

The area I live in was first populated by Europeans in the 1830s. However, relics from indigenous natives have been found nearby which date back several thousand years.

Do you know of the oldest building in Moscow?

hershie 09-03-2006 07:13 AM

I think my city, Vancouver, must be amongst the youngest big cities in the world.

"Vancouver was founded as a sawmill settlement called Granville in the 1870s. The city was incorporated in 1886 and renamed after Captain Vancouver."

Haha I agree, but I found the "woody factor" a little higher in Ukraine.

Btw, I was in Red Square and it was one of the most memorable places I've been to. It was just the history of it, and to think less than 20 years ago it was very rare from someone from North America to stand in such a place.

Can't wait to get back to see St.Petersburg
:thumbsup
