Top 5 steps for SEO
 

What would you say the top five steps for SEO are? I've managed to do fairly well with some mainstream sites, but I'm still flunking out in porn sites. =/

I'm thinking it's because of all the noise which makes it a hundred times harder to get positioned.

I can't speak for the other guys but really my way is to target keywords that no one is fighting over. I've got the number one spot in Google for two phrases and really wasn't even trying that hard. The keywords are in the domain and my other sites link to them using the keyword. Thats all it took. And its been paying off nicely.

Well, incoming links is a must. That's pretty obvious. I mean, are there any other methods that are not so obvious?

Incoming links, Lots of text...

An $80 SEO book will leave you with a pile of spammy blogs with little content and less quality traffic. :winkwink:

Top notch stuff! This is the kind of thing I was looking for.

As far as buying a book goes, I really don't see how it can be better to buy some generic SEO tutorial than to have people who are specialized in the adult porn business tell you what works and what doesn't.
