    Wireless NIC

im planning on getting a wireless setup for my laptop

any recommendations? i only need it to support 2 users max

the catch is that my cable modem is on the 3rd floor of my loft and my bedroom is on the first floor. the range states 800-1500 feet, but i was wondering if it'd go through all the concrete, etc...my cordless phone works fine with the base on the 3rd and when im on the first floor and its only 900mghz, not 2.5ghz.

i dont have to have amazing d/l speed. but anything faster than 20kb/s would be great as i'll just be chatting, emailing...

yah this is a stupid post but its really late and at least im not posting how aol 8.0 kicks ass :D

i use a linksys card with their AP router. works pretty decent, but not great. the signal strength seems lame considering im only like 10-15 feet from it usually, and like every 2 months or so it hoses out completely and needs to be rebooted. sometimes my laptop wont find the ap at first until i bring it like 2" from it also. it also takes me like 20+ tries to connect with pppoe sometimes. i would probably reccomend the card, just not the AP. http://www.orinocowireless.com/ is high quality.
