What do you guys think of rev share hosting?
 

is it good and solid and respected? Is it accepted by a lot of the big tgps or is it blacklisted?
Id be using it for video galleries

never used them, but i would personally pay for my hosting. gives me more control

They have been around for years - and I have never heard anyone complain about thier honesty etc.

I just cant see the point in it.... there is no need for it these days :2cents:

Actually I'm quite happy that I've started to use them a few months ago, they actually just "take" ~25% from each sale to cover their bandwidth/server costs, and I've honestly spent more than those 25% for my Movie gallery servers. And I'm also pretty sure that many Thumb MGP/TGP owners spend more than 25% of their income for hosting.

Additionally you'd have to count in the time you spend with maintaining your own servers, doing updates, fixing this and that, etc. And the money you're spending for "oversized" webservers, i.e. you buy 100 mbps, but only use ~60 mbps for the first few months, etc.

All those things cost time and money :)

Oh, because it's vacation time, no more worries if some shit happends to your servers while you're spending time at the beach :)

solid company, great reputation, but I would never list anyone or any page hosted there,, I can't take anyone on a free host serious.. free hosted pages/sites indicate short longevity & the webmaster is likely in it for the fast buck then runs,,

Why lose earnings for them, with less sponsor payout, when payhosts are so cheap nowadays, such as the one in my sig?

if they allowed movies bigger than 5 megs i would use them

You work with the biggest tgps, if you submit galleries to them will their scripts auto-reject galleries hosted with them, or will they go through?

Solid company providing a service needed by those just starting out.

They do allow larger file sizes but that = more cost to them in BW so they take a larger percentage.
