I think she should definitely know how to read...you want the shoot to seem as real as possible...reading is hard to fake in front of the camera...

That's easy, tons of pics have the model staring off to the side. Put a newspaper to the side of her LOL. Ok, that was a stupid joke.

We have some sets that have a calendar in them, I don't know if we have any with the girl very close to it.
