Webair down for anyone else?
Not that it's breaking news or anything, but anyone else having issues with sites on Webair?
|
My stuff with them is still up and running, as is their domain. :thumbsup
|
Down - usually happens 3 to 4 times a week so business as usual!:thumbsup
|
We're up
|
I'm up =]
|
They're up...
|
No problems here.
|
up for me dawg
|
Up here. You should buy a high speed connection :P

I have a virtual account that just had some downtime..... last night, sql8.webair.com was down..
I had adult sites with them for years with no probs but now I run a mainstream site off a virtual acct and its shit so far... whats up with that? I still love webair, just venting a little. |
virtual private servers are the worst to manage from a host's perspective. They always cause little problems here and there. Sure the profit margins are higher than a regular shared hosting account but the issues that come with it are not worthy imo. Hosts should stick to plain shared accounts and dedicated servers :)
If you have a vps with them, maybe you should think about upgrading it to a dedicated instead. |
guess no place is 100% up!

I have a dedicated server and virtual accounts. From a business stand point, it doesnt make sense to start a website on a full blown dedicated account. Maybe hosts just need to get with the program, as I have had virtual accts with Webair in the past that rarely had downtime. |

If you think webair is that bad then just move to another host and quit your bitching. Of course if you did that it would defeat your real purpose here wouldn't it? |

8 sites hosted on a dedicated server with webair. All my images are broken ! It has been like this for 3 hours now But I have to say that this is the major problem happenning since 4 years... They are usually top nutch |

Not anymore.

You want to know why hosts should get their acts together with virtual accts?
You never know when that virtual could turn into a full blown cluster of servers. I know if my host doesnt care about my virtual because 'I'm not spending enough' than guess where I upgrade my shit down the road? something to think about |

I like Webair for the most part. They are affordable, have great customer service, and for the most part are up. I'd recommend them to people who want to throw a lot of smaller sites on a shared host. |

You know that webair has support tickets, support email addys, live chat, techs on ICQ, and a toll free number you can call to speak with a tech right?
So if your site is down why aren't you availing yourself of all of those tools webair has given you instead of trying to make them look bad on a message board? Ulterior motive? Yep |
Hi I'm a NEWB!
|
webair is still up here

just curious |

Although I haven't had the best uptime with Webair, they have always had kickass support and have ironed out issues I had in a timely manner. My motive was to find out if anyone was having weird problems too. I would argue that those with ulterior motives are those that are paid by a company to promote them. |

I would assume so |
all green here

my sites are currently online like always :)
|
I would be willing to bet that they have more than one server so it is possible one might have a problem while others are fine. You should probably be talking to them.
|
where is webair responding to this? are they all sleeping well? no 24/7 monitoring of boards? b o a r d t r a c k e r would perhaps help them!

Does BT monitor GFY? |

And for the record, I would much rather someone called and woke me up than post it on a board, hoping I see it. |

When I was a webair customer, I'd call them to let them know on nearly a thrice-a-week endevour. "It's down again. Yes. It's still completely oversold and crashed again. No. Get it back up so I can wait 30 seconds for a file, if possible. Yes. No, it's not working. I don't care if it's pinging. Hit a web page. Yes, I know it's not pinging now. Please fix it."
About four hours later, they might reboot it. Then, they'd start randomly yanking cables out of their switches like crazed baboons. I don't blame WebAir for this. I blame Mike for lying to me constantly that he would do something about it for about two months, until I finally gave up and moved. Smoooth sailin' |

Who ever implied that virtual customers were not as important as dedicated? |
