Blog software that does not ping until a post is visible to surfers? Any solutions?

Year long discussion but has anything been found yet? Dunno why WP is so hesitant to make this a standard feature.

Are you sure it's that option? From my understanding, the ping services themselves can be very inconsistent.

you can set up curl with cron to open www.pingomatic.com with the url of your site(s). hit me up if you don't know how to do that...
