Who as the BEST affiliate program??

Right we are looking to benchmark and we are struggling to find anybody out there with any interesting features AT ALL... so help me out... What affiliate program features do you like / WANT or have seen?

Post any URLS to affiliate programs that do not use NATS AND MPA or similiar cookie cutter jobbie affiliate programs.

Surely there is someone good?

Same here. I also like the quick box on the right that shows your earnings - much better to have that to quickly glance at than have to wade through complicated stats.

Other things i like in certain affiliate programs are:
  • Proper thumbnail URLs (a screenshot of the gallery is NOT a thumbnail)
  • Decent export options (CSV formatting)
  • No broken thumbs
  • Non-generic descriptions
  • Descriptions of galleries to be completed
  • A quick and simple way of seeing if i've been paid
  • A quick and simple way to see how much i am "owed" at the moment
  • A quick and simple way to see who i've referred, and how much they've earned
  • A page with your logos on, with transparent and black backgrounds for me to use in any adverts i want to develop - cutting, cropping and fixing your existing logo to work with my image takes valuable time

Sorry if that turned into a semi-rant; it's not against any one sponsor in particular, just a sample of the problems i've experienced across the whole range of sponsors i've seen.

The best one is the one making you the most money, imho :) I hope nobody answers because it will get messy, lol!

bigmacandcheese 08-30-2006 12:50 PM

keep it simple, and cross-browser compliant
so many programs are getting WAY unneccesarily complicated these days.
Only include the things you really need. (pretty good ebook on the subject of trimming down: https://gettingreal.37signals.com/)

nothing messy about it actually....there are several good programs out there

some have better sites than others, some better service, some better stats, some convert better....of course, everyone has their own personal experience with each program they send traffic to and each wm experiences something different....

some weeks I might see amazing sales/conversions form one program and the next few weeks something completely different....gotta look at the long term and you'll find who and what works best....of course, things change over time and going back and testing a few here and there never hurts either....

alot of affilitaes need to see their payment history, want to create their own linkingcode, find it important to see refferers of their signups, find it easy to sort promomateriams by size, like to see how many of their surfers entered their details but got declined etc etc etc. Trimming down and keeping things simple for surfers= GOOD. Webmasters need as much details as possible to be able to tweek their traffic.

bigmacandcheese 08-30-2006 01:06 PM

I don't mean to strip out the things that are needed. I guess maybe what I should have said is to think about it first from the Webmasters usability perspective and their needs from the site and focus on that core. It seems that so many programs add extra complication without extra functionality.

I agree that it is very important to be able to get as much data from the program as you need etc.
