Any good safe cracking techniques?

A stoopid passwd cracking thread got me thinking on my own particular problem, which someone here may be able to help with.

OK, I've got this big fuck off Fichier-Bauche safe in my cellar, opened by a key and a 7-digit combination. I've got the key but no combination - that's only known to the last occupier of our house. Who's dead.

Each of the seven combinations can be any number up to 12. Not sure if 0 is an option, but even 1-12 gives a lot of guesses.

I've tried opening it up with an angle grinder, but after the first 2cm of steel, I hit concrete. Changed the blade and tried the congrete but the disk broke and nearly damn took my head off. So sod that as an option.

Fichier Bauche want 15k euros to open it. :321GFY

Any ideas?

leave it outside for someone to steal and follow them, and claim it back when they do.

There are only 35 million combinations, get to turning.

borked 08-29-2006 01:15 PM

I want my bloody house still standing once it's opened!!!

jacked 08-29-2006 01:16 PM

15k to open it thats ridiculous your better off trying a plasma cutter on the hinges

they run anywhere from 1-5k

use the plasma cutter to get through the steel a sledge hammer to break the concrete and then the plasma cutter again to get past the internal steel wall

Big_Red 08-29-2006 01:16 PM

cutting torch. have fun.

borked 08-29-2006 01:16 PM

35.5 mill combinations - yup I'm at 96.
Maybe how the old bat who we bought the house from died

not sure if the local hware store rents cutting torches, but yeah, never thought of that... the hinges are internal, but I guess around the door would work.
I found an old pamphlet in the cellar about fichier-bauche's safes (at the time) and it describes the safe as 750kg which resists fire etc etc, and that lock is protected by a glass surrounding - if drilled it releases bolts rendering the safe unopenable. Don't understand that last bit - a burglar tries to drill the lock and bam. He gets nothing, but then neither do you. Everyone's fucked.

no then you pay $15k to fichier bauche to open it for you... you forgot that part...

they got you by the balls basically if someone messes with the safe

i would look into the plasma cutter would be your best bet and atleast you know now not to try and open it from the front of the safe via the door

yahoo-xxx-girls.com 08-29-2006 01:26 PM

You could use C5... LOL but you might not have a house after your done...

You could use a shape charge.... If you are connected.... and you will need police and bomb experts on hand.... And make sure you have insurance !!!!

Come to think of it.... Why are you posting such a question ???

BLish 08-29-2006 01:34 PM

you should just hire a suicide bomber to hook it up. i hear they are pretty plentiful nowadays!

I doubt it'll work on the sides or back, since I already hit concrete with a disc cutter...
if I do the door and the bolts fly due to the glass cracking, then that shouldn't be a problem for the cutter, no?

bknoob 08-29-2006 02:13 PM

so you just found this safe one day? Or did you know the previous home owner? Sounds freaken tight if its the former. It's like a treasure hunt! Who knows what might be in there.. Holy cow

borked 08-29-2006 03:02 PM

bought the house and the safe was there.
Contacted the sellers (children of the dead mother, who's house it was) and they said they didn't know the code.
We've been in the house 4 years and every so often I go down, try a few combinations, scout around the walls for hidden messages, then kick and curse the bugger and forget about it for another few months....

brand0n 08-29-2006 03:07 PM

go rent a large band saw. let that bitch sit on it for a few days.. maybe a week.. in time it will cut through it.

Dunno where you are, but a decent safe cracker would love the job - especially if it's legal and gives him some money.

:winkwink: Nice try - doubt they designed safes that way.

Phoenix 08-29-2006 03:22 PM

someone once told me that any home safes on the market could be opened with a sledge hammer

but i doubt they were talking about a 750 kg one..lol

try the old stethescope and try picking the lock for a month

Plasma cutters cut through concrete ;)

WiredGuy 08-29-2006 04:02 PM

Call the police and tell them that someone locked a child in there. They'll find a way to pry it open and once they find out you lied, their bill will be less than 15k :)

hahahha this thread is hillarious!

good luck yo!

borked 08-29-2006 11:04 PM

lil' fudger. After much hard work and with 3 others, I managed to to move the safe to another place with a pneumatic pallet mover thing. Had to rest it on bricks, because there is this 10cm centre pole underneath that was inserted into the ground to stop it from being moved! Shame I don't have photos of the contraption we rigged up to lift it to clear the centre pole so that the pallet mover could slide in underneath. That was hard bloody work!
