Authorities(Goverment) are all a bunch of fuckin crooks themselves... They allways go after people that have money & take it away from them. I wonder if these people only add 100 bucks in their account, I don't think they would bother with them. FUCK YOU ALL WHOEVER WORKS FOR THE GOVERMENT!!!

Bunch of fuckin crooks...

Toxictoy 06-19-2002 06:35 PM

What does this mean for things like personal ads and stuff that you may offer in conjunction with your other content? Adult friend finder comes to mind.

I don't get this.. anyone wanna explain?

How the fuck can the "vice squad" setup a phony escort webpage, have "john's" talk to them and such and then go to get their goods, then arrest them. WTF?

Isn't this fucking entrapment? I mean, that's the god damned definition of it right there! what the hell?

I hate this shit. They do the same fucking crap with gas stations selling cigarettes. A longass time ago I worked at a gas station, and the cops would come in with a kid that LOOKED to be like fucking 25, but really was 17, and bust you with a $500 fine and you'd be instantly fired (plus if you were unlucky serve a court date, and probably do community service). $500 is a shitton of cash for someone working as a gas station attendent. I fail to see how this shit is legal.

Here is a thread on this case from last night, started by a GFY webmaster who apparently knows the guy who got arrested:

Here's a quote from his wife. good woman.

"He did not know a thing about it," she said. "He just markets the Web site. He didn't design it. When he markets businesses he doesn't know what they're selling."

Anyone else spot something amusing about that statement?

Lev 06-19-2002 10:19 PM

One thing I don't understand, why do the police make a such a big fuss over prostitution in United States, that is, it is perfectly legal in the state of Nevada, at least in Las Vegas?

Here in Kenya, its also illegal. But if you've seen our women, nobody would pay for them anyways.

Reminds me of the guy who designed an escort site, but didnt know it was for prostitution.... hahaha

It would be entrapment if they came to you, got you to commit a crime, then arrest you for it.. If you go to them, which would be the case if you went looking (visited their site), then you've opened the door for them to do as they please.
It's your basic sting operation.

salsbury 06-20-2002 08:48 AM

prostitution is illegal in vegas, but is legal in some areas outside of vegas. it should be legal everywhere, imo, but it'll probably be legalized around the same time that marijuana is.

No it's not. It's legal in Cook County, that's why you have to drive 40 miles to ??? (I forgot the name) to visit the Chicken Ranch.

The girls that come to your room and "Entertain" you are "dancers". She turns up two hours late, twist for 10 minutes before trying to screw you for $500 for 10 minutes, so she can get to the next John.

The whole thing is so hypicritical, did you know the local council are mostly Mormons?

Here it is totally legal and very competetive. The girls give you a good time, cos they want you to come back.:thumbsup

bigdoggie.net

makes me fucking sick... escorts are fucking legal but they decide to call all the ladies "prostitutes" to make it sound better on the news. Escorts don't fuck for money. They give you their time. If they want to fuck you, then that is'nt part of the deal. Why is porn legal? What is the difference between a pornstar and a prostitute? Are they gonna bust all the pornstars now for prostitution?

I've been running my escort site since November, and I tell you that it is the best fucking scene I have been in. All the ladies I have met are the nicest you could ever meet. They offer help, advice, and some even sent me donations for nothing! They are not bad people and it makes me sick how the media is fucking telling their story.

prostitution is illegal in any county with a population greater than 250,000. It is illegal in Vegas and all of Clark County despite public perceptions....The Chicken Ranch and Sheri's, etc. are out in and near Pahrump which is just the other side of the county line....

Paypal your joking right? Today I couldnt get 300 dollars from an atm despite suposedly having a 400 dollar withdrawl limit. I try to not keep more than 100-200 bucks in my paypal account at any time

drunkmonkey 06-21-2002 11:01 AM

What disturbs me about this article is that the guy in question, Steven E. Lipson, appeared to be nothing more than an affiliate. From the way this all sounds, if any of the companies you are or have been involved with as an affiliate do any illegal activities through their business, you are held accountable as well. I could see where the justice department could have a field day with this.

Imagine if a person working for webpower (i.e. one of the thousands of camgirls) met a customer through ifriends. During this meeting they talk about having sex. Said customer turns out to be a cop. Webpower is ACCUSED of running a prostitution ring. All records are seized, including affiliate accounts. How many webmasters could be indicted?

This may be far fetched but, then again, it may not.

I agree, but I also feel that you don't pick and choose which laws to obey. I mean, I may think the speed limit should be 100, but does that belief give me the right to drive 100?

GFED 06-21-2002 11:40 AM

Legalized porn and illegal prostitution is like legalized weed but illegal to smoke! I don't see the problem with his site. Is it the message bases? Is the webmaster responsible for all the messages on his message base? I have about 200 Yahoo groups for my escort site. I don't know whether I should close them or leave them up. Should they be moderated or unmoderated? :helpme

I have spoken with 2 attorneys about this. But the only advise both had to give me was to delete my site!

SleazyDream 06-21-2002 11:45 AM

Ok here's where I have a problem with this.

"An anonymous citizen first tipped off the Sheriff's Office about the Web site two years ago"

IF the guy is found to be innocent, this anonymous citizen should be charged with defamation and JAILED.
