Poll for TGP Owners, Visitors, Submitters
 

I was just looking at different TGP's and for those of you that frequent (think back before you got into the biz) and those of you that run TGP's and submit galleries to them, my question is as follows:

Do you think that visitors enjoy the single index sites better (kinda like thehun.com and al4a.com) or the categorized listings?

Obviously the single index listing would be easier to maintain as you could just pick the cream of the crop of all your submissions. Just curious as to what you all liked better.

To me the categories are nice, but I always found myself going to thehun.com or al4a.com.

I would really like to hear from those of you that run some high-traffic TGP's like Shemp, Sleazy, The Hun, et al., Sorry I am still kinda new to the game so if I offended someone by leaving their name out I apologize.

I think the surfers enjoys the catagorized sites

the big thing the surfer wants, is tons of free porn - updated daily

if you don't have gallery skimming, or 33% links going to trades, the jerk off artists love you even more

the Hun is gigantic, but so are sites like sublime and tommy bookmarks

Tommy might not have one page doing 1.5 million uniques/day, but he has a bunch of them doing 200-300k+/day

add in the fact it is targeted traffic to a certain niche, and he's a happy camper

When the links are mixed, the surfer spends more time on the page looking for his favourites. They even go down to the bottom of the list looking for what ever niche they are into.

If you categorize them, they quicly zoom in on their favourites and then they leave. Remember, i want as many people as possible, clicking as much as possible on my site.

I use the same system as Hardcore Junky, random links for the first couple of days, which are then added to specific categories.

Shemp, I couldnt help but notice the Window Washer thing on your site.

Do these things not erase porn cookies?

I see you say "clears cache and clears cookies too!"

Doesnt this conflict with Directive #1?

Just curious, I dont push these types of proggies because I have been told it will erase cookies, I could be wrong though ;)

my personal favorites are thumbnailed ala madthumbs, and xpirin.com, listed would be my second choice, and categorized my last choice.

Yes, ive heard complaints about that. There are so many advantages to using a washer or eraser program, though.
Maybe we need a better way of tracking followup sales without using cookies. Its a good point, Fletch.

Haven't met sleazy or cd yet, but have spoken with them. sleazy's much nicer when you're talking to him offline :)
