How do I turn putty telnet shell access on through Cpanel?
Need to upload a large mysql database but the server won't let me access through shell, contacted host but maybe theres a quicker way...

While in cPanel as "root" ensure you have enabled SSH access for the user you are connecting to the server as (assuming it is a sub-account you are
using). Look for "Manage Shell Access" in "Account Functions". Once that is enabled, you can also go into the "Feature Manager" for the package assigned to the account. Ensure the "SSH Window" feature is checked off. So when you bring up the cPanel for the sub-account you will have a SSH icon. Hope that helps. |
