16 years Ago We Lost of one the Best Guitarists EVER!!!
 

I was lucky enough to see him before he got killed, and i still have to say he is one of the best that ever picked up a guitar.

Fucking a right.

I was at Alpine Valley that night. It was very bizarre -- GREAT show. When the show ended we headed out, got in our car and turned on the radio to hear "Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed tonight."

We're like, yeah, right.

i seen him in concert with hewie lewis the year he died.

his music went right thru me standing about 10 feet from the stage!

I concur 100% I LOVE his version of Hendrix' "Little Wing"--he gave it more depth, nuance, and an aching existential feel from that rather shallow and 'trendy' original (psychedelia whoop deee whoop). Stevie Ray packs a lot of passion, emotion, and psychic urgency into every chord. His loss is felt daily in the music world. RIP Stevie Ray.

This statement pretty much sums SRV up, his music just had so much passion, so much emotion, and i know everytime i listen to him i still feel his music. I cant say that for many other artists out there, you dont listen to his music, you experience his music and it moves you.

hmm... personally, i don't him coz i'm just 18...
he dieed when i'm still 2 yrs of age..
but my late dad's a big fan of him so i guess he really is great :)

Drank coffee cups full of Bourbon & Cocaine to get going in the morning. Drugs almost killed him.

Cleans himself up, still rocks on and plays AWESOME and makes more hits.

Then dies in a helicopter crash.

He was cheated IMO.
