should i or shoudn't i...
ok so the local college (12,000 students) has asked me to give the on campus kids (4500) mousepads with certain phone numbers on it, including my computer store & whatever else i want. this is a great deal for me because no one else will be allowed to do this kind of advertising for the students. im slipping in under the radar a bit.
im gonna put my computer store & 1 pizza delivery place on there, to split the cost of the pads, but im also considering putting a small ad on there for some type of adult portal i can setup... just a simple link page with all the niches and stuff... nothing obscene on the mousepad itself, just a url. the mousepad has to be approved by the college, but after theyve approved it... i could slip it on there & have them printed... heheh... sneaky and dangerous i know... but... should i do it? |
Sounds iffy to me dude...

:warning
better not. |
I would do it. Just make it a domain that's not littered w/ 'XXX' or 'freeporn" or whatever. Then link whatever you want to it. If they don't approve, then take it off. It's worth a shot....

make a small college 'dating' site and put the url on there
add some links to dating affiliates |
do like 3 niches,
sex, religion and politics... 3 links would make it seem like you were just being 'informative', but we know that they would all only click the sex link. |

I would skip it. Just be glad your shop is getting the great exposure.

sly u meeting us saturday in SD for drinks? |
the thing is, if some parents find out about this and decide to sue you and the university for morally corrupting their children, the amount you make out of this stunt won't be enough to cover the legal fees (let alone something more if this goes against you in court). a dating site is ok though, if there's nothing adult in it. :2 cents:
|
Hell put a portal domain with no adult content on when they approve it, local info, etc, then change it!
They approved it! :thumbsup :thumbsup |
don't do it, stick to mainstream ads
|
I was going to say stay on the side of safety... but if you do do it, and the university catches on it could actually be really good publicity... on the other hand, there are kids that are 16 and 17 years old attending universities which could end up really bad in the end if you were discovered... but if you weren't caught you'd get all kinds of traffic, and lots of parents give their naive kids credit cards before leaving home for school... but when you think of the fact that schools don't have a lot of money, they may have a deal set up with a printer who's connected to them in some way. In which case they may tip off the school's board before the printing even takes off and you'd lose that deal with no fame or fortune from the scandal.
Hmm, hope I helped :thumbsup |
naw. dont put porn on it.
however you could make it more profitable by putting a resource site on it with all your affiliate programs in it |

anyone care to recommend a dating sponsor? |
I'd do it. Just make it a portal to dating sites and and maybe exit to some adult stuff. Almost all college kids are over 18, just a few 17 year olds in thier first semesters.
Most of them are piss poor though, at least where I went to school they were. collegecompanions.com is available :2 cents: |
Those review boards are really strict... I would build a site for free things on it.. and have a link from that to the adult thing once its been approved so u just change the website
|
i wouldnt do it dawgy.

Dude, go for the LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP between your computer shop and the college. Don't screw it trying to make a few quick bucks off some kids credit cards.
