i've used authorize.net and wells fargo (via Quickbooks). both are teh suck, but wells fargo's sucked less for its partial integration into quickbooks, and authorize.net sucked less for easily done batch transactions (this was for a non-adult business that required recurring billing).

i don't recall the exact fees, but it was something like 2-2.5% per transaction, 30 cent minimum. amex was around that. discover was 1% more (where do you think the "cash back bonus award" comes from, heh.) and had a monthly fee of like $15, IIRC.

I just requested info from Authorize.net couple days ago.. heres what I got today, just in case youre interested:

Hi Tyler,
Very good, thanks for the additional information. We recently rolled out a new service specifically geared toward the web hosting/design segments called Integrated Payment Services (IPS). IPS is a true turn-key solution in that it combines our traditional payment gateway with a Wells Fargo Internet Merchant Account. As you know, all merchants who accept credit cards or eChecks on-line need an Internet Merchant account from either a bank, ISO or other merchant service provider. We simply partnered with Wells Fargo to give merchants a convenient place to get both pieces of the puzzle. Some additional benefits of IPS:

- The ability for your customers to process credit cards or eChecks on-line (Authorize Net gateway).
- A Wells Fargo Merchant account with a monthly processing limit of $20,000 for Visa and MasterCard and $5,000 for eChecks (may be approved for higher limits if needed)
- Most merchants approved within 60 seconds
- Convenient application process accessed through your web site (we host the actual application). Your customers are returned to your web site upon completion of the application.
- Easy integration into e-commerce carts via HTML or API code
- Trackable, so you get $ credit for all your merchant activity
- No cost to you to become a reseller

IPS end user prices reflect *both* the merchant account and gateway fees:
Set-up: $149
Per-transaction: $.35
Discount rate: 2.39% for Visa/MC
Monthly service fee: $29.95

I have attached a copy of our reseller application and a W-9 form. If you are interested in becoming an IPS reseller, please complete both forms and mail them along with a voided company check to my attention:

IPS is marketed primarily toward the SOHO and SMB markets and has a monthly processing cap of $20,000. If you anticipate your customers will need a larger merchant account, please let me know and we will easily accommodate.

If you have any questions, please e-mail me directly.
